How bad is the knee at this time? What are the chances of it cutting his career short?

It seems perfect now going off his skating this year. It was also Osteochondritis apparently... so he had surgery to sort out the cartilage and I guess it should be fine from here. Maybe he was a bit wary due to it but doubt it will cause issues in future.

I had two arthroscopic surgeries for osteochondritis on my right knee. It definitely made me wary since it could essentially flare up again at any time. Luckily it's been under control for a while now, knock on wood...

Hope you guys dont mind me spamming this thread with reports! I actually was going to post a lot of them (in more "note" form) in the thread closer to the draft this year... but now will have ~40 or so going up before the draft online at smahtscouting, so figured nicer to read them there anyway haha.

And tbh I scouted a lot of them with the Flyers in mind! Especially in regards to where Flyers picking and the types of player I like/think has good value.

Please, sir, could we have some more?

Haha, there for sure will be.

Every year I usually have notes on ~50 guys or so that I took interest in over the course of the year. So this year the ~100-150 words of notes are just being made into actually legible reports.

Mostly Euros tbh, but ~10 or so North Americans I went out of my way to watch as well.

Speaking solely for myself, I think he'll end up closer to a late 2nd than a late 1st for me. So I can't envision a scenario where I am thrilled or satisfied if he is the pick. He's got a good shot and decent offensive skillset but I don't think he impacts the game enough. A lot of production on the PP which may be attributed to usage being the top dog on a young team. He's like a lesser version of Jacob Perreault to me (who admittedly I was not crazy about but have warmed up to a bit recently).

I like his teammate Cardwell a lot better relative to where he is expected to go.

edit: Holy typos.

Vierling is another Colt who I'd like to see taken in the 2nd round. I think Foerster is long gone before we pick there.

The thing with Foerster that our prospects are missing is that lethal shot, his is hard, accurate and with a quick release. I wouldn't mind seeing Philly draft any one or two of those 3 (Cardwell) in this draft...even if I am slightly biased toward the Colts. All three of those benefited from trades that brought Vieling and Cardwell to Barrie, and I think you see them play even better this season (if there is one).

Hahaha. Wow. That is 3x guys who might go in the first round.

Cant imagine any scenario where both Mysak and Jarvis are there at 25... let alone 56! And Evangelista will go 2nd round at worst I guess... Torgersson likely late 2nd or 3rd round too.

Yes, it was enjoyable. Jarvis is ranked way down in all these sims. Mysak was ranked 94th.

I mean... their draft board has to be crazy.

That is 4 guys who might go in 1st (2 who will) 5 guys who will very likely go top 60-70 and a guy in Knazko who will likely go top 100!

Yeah Vierling is decent. I think he benefited more from playing on the top line and top PP with Foerster. Cardwell has more breakout potential imo playing as a first year OHL player in a secondary role. Really young for the class too. Now maybe he will always be hindered by playing in a secondary role behind those guys, but finishing the season on a PPG pace with Barrie is pretty impressive for a kid not expected to go in the top 2 rounds.

Not to beat a dead horse but it really sucks losing two more mid-rounds picks.

I tried Ottawa (because that has become my mock team) and, um, maybe the Fanspeaks rankings are not quite accurate.

A cool 12 potential 1st rounders... solid draft there.
