Sure ... could he carry the future 1C roll with us.... say over Perf or Rossi If Byfield isn’t available ?
He looks like he could be a future number 1 center. I am not sure who the best center is of Stutzle, Perfetti and Rossi. They are all very good prospects with high upside.

damn I just assumed, any word on why?

Wants to focus on his game in Ottawa. He was going to skip last year as well, though he got injured, making the decision meaningless. Liam Kirk feels the same way.

The lower level tournament isn't an automatic with players and teams the way the WJC is.

New Morreale list out
Top prospects eligible for 2020 NHL Draft

Lundell dropping lately. His injury isn't helping. He is likely out for the WJC
Mercer rising -- Team Canada invite helps.
Barron will likely drop and could possibly be a steal if he drops out of the first. (hope he recovers)
Schneider rising -- invited to Team Canada camp

According to wikipedia, it's been 47 years since a player was drafted out of the MJHL.

I doubt a second year eligible guy breaks that trend.
There are guys drafted out of the MJHL somewhat often, no clue where you're getting the 47 years.

Matt Theissan in 2018 and Dean Stewart in 2016 being two recents

As my post states, wikipedia.

List of MJHL players drafted by the NHL - Wikipedia

Like Abe Lincoln said though, I guess I shouldn't trust everything I read on the internet. That's my bad.

Edit: Here's an accurate list. Some good defensemen produced lately like Sanheim, Edmundson and Hamonic.

MJHL players drafted by the NHL
Most of those guys were only there as 16 year olds prior to moving on to the WHL and getting drafted out of the W, the list of guys actually drafted out of the MJHL is much lower, with only 10 since 2000
