They win with the refs help and without it. So it's a moot issue.

Lakers Celtics would be fun to watch if only for the continuation of the rivalry but I feel like even if Boston were to somehow come back, that the Lakers would smash the Celtics apart and it would be a very quick series. The matter of fact is that LA is the best team in America because of 2 superstars. AD is playing at a MVP level and LeBron while he is getting old can still ball. People complain about the Lakers depth but who cares. Their two superstars are playing at a great level and carrying them throughout the playoffs.
How is it a moot point? If its a moot point, then why did the Lakers complain? And better yet, why did the NBA cave?

Side note: Between the Celtics and Lakers, only one team got smashed in their two meetings this season and it wasnt the Celtics.

We all knew when Kobe passed that hte NBA would do everything they can to help the Lakers so they can "win it for Kobe", what a story that would be
lolwut

you make it sound like they barely snuck into the playoffs as the 8th seed (with the bubble rule changes) and have lucked their way to the WCF

In an ESPN article , LeBron described his last quarter guarding of Murray "winning time". Most would call it " LeBron can foul Murray on his drives to the basket and get away with it time". Well done LeBron!

Didnt Kemba not play in the game the Lakers won?

But thats beside the point. You didnt answer my question. If the officiating is a moot point, why did the Lakers complain to the league?

Because teams complaining about fouls in the playoffs is an annual tradition. Only surpassed by fans whining about it. Though in my experience, fans who count FTAs usually only pay attention when it's not in their favor, and ignore the games where it is.

Do you guys not know that there's an officiating portal where teams submit complaints about every wrong call after every game? This kind of thing allows the NBA to better clarify the rules, but again, it happens all season. What is clear is that a lot of people don't know how these leagues actually work and flip their shit just because a team follows the proper channels they're supposed to follow.

Pretty good half for Miami considering how many open looks they missed. Boston missed some too but Miami also played some really good defense.

As usual, JVG was on point with his rant on reviews. It’s awful for everyone involved. No need for a review there. Just fine Kemba for flopping and move on.

Boston whooped Miami in the second half. Miami probably won’t shoot this poorly again but Boston was just flat out better at both ends.

Bam is Miami’s most important player and he got outplayed by Theis. That can’t happen no matter how well Theis is playing.

First off Im aware that all teams file complaints, my point though was that officiating is not a moot point like the OP is trying to say. OP is trying to make the point that the Lakers are so much better than everyone else that whether they do or dont get the calls is irrelevant. Which is just ridiculous in and of itself because they wouldnt be filing complaints and bitching to the media if it didnt matter or if they were far superior than everyone else.

Also, complaining to the media is not "proper channels". Proper channels is filing your complaints and moving on.

Happens after every game all year long, yet he made a point to bring it up to the media after game 3 that Lebron isnt getting enough FTs. Sounds exactly like complaining to me.
telling the media lebron's not getting enough FTs and actually going to the league to file a complaint about it are two entirely different things

Bam might be hurt though which could really be issue for the Heat

Thanks a lot, Dell Demps. Did we REALLY need another LeBron and Friends predictable outcome?

Well, last year felt like a nice little outlier but...... 9th time in 10 years, LeBron's in the Finals.

ABC can't lose with Finals ratings regardless of MIA/BOS because the Lakers are the Lakers.
