Hronek is a RHS RD like Seider. They could really use Sanderson in their prospect pipeline.
Sounds like I really need to get my s**t together.

If I'm the Red Wings, I take Rossi and don't look back. My closest quarantine-buddies have been a couple, a huuuuge Red Wings fan and his extremely-upset-that-hockey-is-back girlfriend. I watched the draft lottery with him and he was extremely upset, until I started talking about how great Marco Rossi is for the next hour. The bottle of Jim Beam also helped.
Bratt is too small for the NHL yet here we are. Probably something about the heart of the fight in the dog or something like that.
Right.
Lafreniere won't be a Redwing but Rossi, imo, would be a great consolation prize.
Damn...now I'm depressed because there's no chance in hell that Rossi is there at 7.
When I played hockey, my teammates called me Stevie Ives-erman.
Right.

My point was self-aggrandizing -- is was that I would draft Rossi if I were Red Wings GM. There has to be at least some fire to the smoke that the Wings brass loves Cole Perfetti, who plays for a Saginaw team part-owned by multiple members of the Detroit front office.
My counter-point is that Marco Rossi is the most Yzerman-y player in this draft. I grew up watching -- and being a tremendous fan of -- Steve Y. When I played hockey, my teammates called me Stevie Ives-erman. Of course, I wasn't very good while Yzerman was, to me, one of the top 20 players ever to play the game.
Like Yzerman, Rossi is not the biggest or the fastest. But he combines elite hands and vision with almost supernatural hockey IQ and compete level. The kid not only battles relentlessly for every inch of ice, he also has a sixth sense for anticipating where those inches are going to be ahead of time.
Perfetti also has an insane hockey IQ -- no one's doubting that -- and I would say he's an even superior pure scorer to Rossi. But Rossi is a more explosive player, far more advanced in his 200-foot game and plays with a good deal more tenacity... which is saying something because Perfetti goes all out, as well.
If I'm Stevie Y? I'm taking Rossi and not looking back. Like I said, the only other player who I could consider strongly at #4 for Detroit is Sanderson. But there are a ton of factors which will go into this pick, which is likely to determine how the ensuing four to five teams draft directly.
Get ready for Sanderson!
(+ Schneider with the Arizona pick and O'Rourke with Vancouver's, 90's shutdown trap hockey here we come!)
Devils are going to end up drafting Jake Sanderson with the 7th pick.
Lafreniere Byfield Stutzle Rossi Drysdale Perfetti are going to be off the board.

For some reason, I feel like Sanderson should be the betting favorite. I have no idea. Just a gut thing. Maybe it's because of the amount of discussion we have had about him as a forum during this thing.
Concerned as in who we pick, or concerned over if Zona wins the play in?i’m more concerned with our second pick than our first one. we’re getting a great player at 7 either way

Holtz
I want Holtz, too (though I'm still hopeful that somehow Rossi is still there).
In what is supposed to be a Forward-heavy draft, it would make zero sense to not come away with a Top-Forward Stud in the first round (and that can only be possible via the Devils pick at #7).
I know many here want Sandy-boy but it would be such a let-down if players like Holtz, Rossi..were there for the taking and Fitz selects a d-man (Yes, I've mentioned I'd be okay with Drysdale but I doubt he'll last until 7).
As I've probably said a billion times now, I'd much rather have Sanderson and Quinn/Mercer/Jarvis than Rossi/Holtz/Raymond and Guhle, who would be an all too possible pick at Arizona's pick.
It's whatever at this point though. Just get me to October so we can get it over with.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a forward heavy draft, it only matters who you think is best at your pick. If I think 13 of the 15 top picks are forwards but a defenseman is my highest rated when I pick 7 then I should pick defenseman.
You can’t argue selecting a defenseman at 7 would be disappointing but then say you’d be ok with Drysdale. If a defenseman at 7 is inherently disappointing then all defenseman would have to be disappointing.
Your problem isn’t with Defenseman in either of these 2 arguments. They’re both that you don’t feel Sanderson will be the most valuable player on the board at 7.
I’ll actually argue that if the Devils draft 7 and 11 they’re more likely to get a stud forward than a stud defenseman at 11.
