If they don't move it to a bubble, it's gonna be cancelled. You can't expect the players/staff to police themselves.
It's not even that, it's all non-MLB people that they aren't factoring in. That's the difference between MLB and the bubbles. The bubbles eliminate as much of the risk as possible from the interactions with regular people.

It's going to be really interesting to see what happens with the draft if you end up with some decent team finishing at the bottom because they had a bunch of COVID.

There are two reasons why there hasn't been a successful pitcher-outfielder since Babe Ruth (and that for two seasons, one in a war-weakened league).

The first is that it is really, really hard. Props to Ohtani for being able to do it at all.

The second is that you're doubling the chances of getting hurt. That's what happened to Wes Ferrell in 1933 and why the experiment was abandoned.

Ohtani is too good at either role to risk constantly being on the IL. Given his injury issues as a pitcher, I'd make him a full-time hitter and nothing else. He can play corner outfield if his arm recovers, DH if it doesn't (and just release Pujols already).

Absolutely terrible. Does this put part of his 2021 season in jeopardy? Isn't this a 8-12 month injury? See Kevin Durant...obviously a NBA player jumping all the time is different than a pitcher (this is Soroka's plant foot) but still, this is awful timing all-around.

Yeah if he comes back in 2021 it won't be until mid to late in the season. Time for the Braves to spend big money on a pitcher and none of this Keuchel-Hamels garbage either.

Is it really that difficult to believe that 2 players went out together, one wanted a coffee, so that's where they went, and the other doesn't drink coffee got a milk instead? This was inevitable when they decided to not do a bubble.

It's kinda besides the point anyway isn't it? Whether they go for a milk, a sandwich or 5 beers...going to a public establishment in a place where Covid is rampant is going to lead to infections. This isn't Europe where community spread was already pretty low when they resumed the soccer seasons, these are places where the pandemic is at its height pretty much.

Osuna needs tommy john surgery although he's going to ask for a second opinion. If he needs it, looks like his time with Houston is over. Would be out this season and next and I think he would be a free agent when he's back. Even if they wanted him, with the bad press they got, don't see Click offering his a new contract. You think another team would or his time in the MLB could be over?

Someone will sign him, good players get plenty of chances.
