From 92-98, they lost to teams like Torpedo Moscow, Rotor Volgograd twice, Galatasaray and Dortmund in knockouts.
Yea, there used to be a lot more great clubs before the huge difference in money that there is today. Those kinds of teams used to actually be good. Dortmund won the CL that year.
Sure there are good teams there, just like City lost to a few good teams during Pep's tenure. Those kinds of teams used to actually be good. Dortmund won the CL that year.
Them's fighting words. DROP THE GLOVES!The discrimination is real.
From 92-98, they lost to teams like Torpedo Moscow, Rotor Volgograd twice, Galatasaray and Dortmund in knockouts. They won 4 league titles and 2 FA Cups in that span. It is worse than what City has with Pep TBH.
I also believe they need to hire Zidane to take it to the next level in Europe. Great minds think alike. As someone who isn’t defending Guardiola and who on this very forum said that he wasn’t the best manger in the World well before today’s match I am simply putting some things into context. Of course he should have done better than he has in Europe, but exactly how much better would be the better discussion. And IMO there’s not much of a case to say he should have done so much better than he has. Yes he has an expensive squad, but anyone who’s followed the game knows that spending doesn’t always equate to winning, especially in Europe. Furthermore to claim “Pep spent” when that isn’t entirely true is pretty dumb. He’s been given credit for buying players who were at the club before he arrived on this forum before. And imagine saying something like “well he’s only won it with Messi.”
City won’t sack him nor should they right now. There are only two managers they should even consider if they do and one of them would never sign for them.
