Evolve-Hockey shows Dermott at $2m x 2 Years is a fair offer.

You mean evolving-hockey?

Yep, that's the tool.

It's just, we're not all patrons, but I've understood that it would be a somewhat decisive factor in establishing RFA deals for what we can consider full-time NHLers.

Granted, I guess there's no telling if it's computations are taking into account what the stagnant cap and entire Covid situation are going to mean for upcoming contracts, because they'll likely have a huge effect on what some of these deals are going to look like, both in length and amount.

CAVEAT:
I only mentioned this not because of the actual Dermott deal itself, which totally looked like it was in the right ballpark, but rather just to make sure we're all on the same page with respect to determining what salaries RFAs are in line for.

Ye evolving hockey.

Its ok, if you need any contracts checks just let me know and il check.

Its not fully accurate. Some contracts are pretty overpaid in comparison to similar performing players though. Its not a bad tool to use as a guide though.

Yep, according to CapFriendly's buyout calculator, that means you would save only 667 k in each of the next three seasons.

The Isles would still be taking on a $4.8+ M cap hit over that period of time.

You'd be better off burying him in minors buddy. You'd save more money that way.
Oml fine, I guess I choose not to buy him out, this off-season stuff is not fun lol I prefer just to draft

Just off hand - I'm under the understanding that Eich Jackel tells us what his tool says about what a bonafide NHLer who is an RFA is scheduled to get.

For all I know, that might be the case above...

But in general, I'm operating under the guise that we're not to be choosing what we feel the RFA should be ready to accept.

Could we have some clarification on this?
I think we're free to sign RFAs at our discretion. It's UFAs Eich is running.

Oh, yes, of course. The choice to sign them would be at our discretion. Certainly.

But WHAT AMOUNT we sign them to is at the discretion of Evolving Hockey, not just what we feel would be fair or likely (or promising for our cap-complying rosters :naughty:).

That's how I've understood it to be and why I wanted to throw this out there.

I've always just gauged the cost on my own, and if anyone thinks it is too far off, they say so

Thanks @uncleben for drafting a bunch of players I’ve never heard of so I can add them to my mock draft spreadsheet
I try to be good for one every mock!

Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one with a spreadsheet that I add names to as guys are drafted that I don't know!!!

It's literally impossible to be knowledgeable of the 200+ players that get picked in these mocks, so I like to keep a master list that compiles all of the main (CSS, TSN, HockeysFuture, etc.) draft rankings, as well as our and various other mocks to get popular opinion and valuations on players. This year I have over 400 names that have been picked or ranked at some point this past season
