Someone will claim this is hyperbole, but it isn't.

If you're being realistic, Riley Tufte has a better chance at an NHL career than Mavrik Bourque. He's big, athletic, can play the PK, and he's defensively responsible. Bourque is a boom or bust prospect.

Defensive forwards are always going to have an easier and more likely path to the NHL over a Top 6 prospect. I'm so glad that something changed in Nil and/or McDonnell that caused them to value skill more than normal. Those quotes from Turner about Bourque seem to suggest that as some have mentioned, Braydon Point beating their butts in the SCF might have been that cause.

In time to say it 2-0 Cataracts on the Sags. Superb exchange completed by Mavrik Bourque, which left no chance for Alexis Shank.

Daniel Ljungman stays hot. Scores a goal and an assist today. Now he has 11 goals and 5 assists in 11 games for the U20 league in Sweden.

Apparently Bourque heard what Turner was saying about Dallas hoping he'd be a bit more selfish and shoot more.

Scored his 2nd today on the PP to tie the game in the 3rd.

We finally have a CHL forward prospect that is going to put up 1 PPG++

How haven't you met my sons before?

Jason Robertson is really the last one that was PPG++ IMO. Mascherin wasn't part of the system when he was putting up big numbers. Damiani, Dellandrea, etc. have one nice season, but career numbers under 1PPG.

I just mean, we will tune into many multi-point nights from Bourque which is odd from our prospects.

Found an article confirming that Peterson's lower body injury isn't serious and should be short term.

Shapiro covered the 6 Swedish prospects today:

The Scandinavian Six: Getting to know the Stars' European-based prospects

Of note, Takko says that Peterson is Dallas' best prospect in Sweden. He was disappointed in Karlstrom's missed opportunity for development when he jumped to Linköping from AIK, and it stalled his development because they were a deep SHL team that wasn't going to give minutes to a young guy. He's been on the up tick since moving to Växjö, but the missed development opportunities hurt him and they're hoping to see how he does in Austin. Takko described Back as a coach's dream, but they'd like to see him develop his offensive side a bit. He has a big role in Färjestad playing big minutes on the PK and when the game is on the line.

Here's where Takko and McDonnell differ ... which makes me happy. Both said that when they watch Eriksson, they're shocked he hasn't been given bigger minutes. He's looked good in live viewings for both in a limited role, and Takko added that is combination of size, skill, skating, and shot is dangerous if he puts it together. Where they divulge, McDonnell put it on the team. Takko said sometimes you have to trust the coach because he's not there every game or between games at practices. He put the onus on Eriksson to do something about it. It doesn't sound like Takko has seen Eriksson live yet this season since returning from injury. The reports from that most recent game out of Färjestad were that Eriksson had probably his best career game. It'll be interesting to see if he builds on it.
