Speaking of faceoffs, that must have Jack Eichel has been absolutely brutal in his career on the dot (44.2%). Sure he looks good this year (53.24%) do did he finally figure it out or is it just a small sample size anomaly?
His faceoff percentage since 2018-19 is 47.6%, which seems realistic. His faceoff percentage in his first three seasons was a cumulative 40.5%, just absolutely brutal.
Also worth pointing out that Kopitar was a sub-50% faceoff guy for the first five seasons of his career. It wasn't until he was 24 that he moved into the positive and he never looked back. Since 2011-12, he's averaged 53.7% on faceoffs. Over he past four seasons, he's averaging 54.7%. That's pretty wild.
I wonder how much of that was Stoll helping with him faceoffs. He had to be a factor
