i want the bartkowski thread back
My first impression from watching Podkolzin a few times is that, as talented as he is, he doesn't strike me as someone who uses his linemates well.
I don’t blame him. That would suck if he decides to dip.We aren't taking podkolzin with our first...Benning doesn't have the balls to take a Russian that high
In the past for other cities they've been super cheap, like 10-20 bucks. I suppose just factor a bit of Vancouver inflation on top of that. They tend not to go on sale until close to the draft.Does anyone know how much tickets to the draft cost?

Outside the top4 I’m leaning towards Turcotte, Suzuki or Newhook.
I'm currently living in Victoria. Not too enamoured with Newhook ATM.
The top two/top-four tiers are where we desperately need to be at the draft.
There are more and more criticisms of Newhook’s game. What did you see that you didn’t like?
I don’t the Canucks are in the top4 range this draft. DET is terrible. NYR is right there. OTT will come back to earth and LA, STL, FLA have been slow to start. VAN will have some work ahead of it to fall to the bottom. Either that, or win the lottery...
I’m projecting them at about #6 or #7. That gets them into the range of Suzuki, Soderstrom or Turcotte.
I could be wrong, but I believe the same was said of Tarasenko at some point? My first impression from watching Podkolzin a few times is that, as talented as he is, he doesn't strike me as someone who uses his linemates well.
One of my favourite players in the class. As a German myself, I naturally gravitate and watch them a little more than others. He hasn't popped off f the scoresheet, but he shouldn't as a 17 year old playing in the DEL. Big right handed defensemen are always valuable, and Seider brings that tough physical attribute that you look for in a defenseman. He doesn't back down and is always so strong on his feet and skates, making him near impossible to jostle or budge out of the way. His passing is impressive, with lots of breakout passes and quick tape to tape cross ice ones with great accuracy and vision. People see that he hasn't scored too many points or done impressive things and automatically write him off, but he's not that Dahlin type of defender who's going to wow you with end to end breakaway speed and puck control, although he can breakout in a rush with the puck at his stick and show some flare. His shot generates tons of power with his large frame and I'd like to see him utilize it a bit more because it is quite blistering. Skates quite well for a big guy, could work on edges a bit but speed is great. I'd like to see him also stay involved in games as well and maybe not fade too much because when he's not throwing crisp passes or laying out attackers, he can be forgotten, although playing in a men's league can do that to you.Anyone have info on Moritz Seider? 6'4 183lb RHD out of Germany. *IF* we snagged a late 1st he might be in that range and is the type of player we are sorely lacking.

TPE Hockey 2019 NHL Draft Profile: Moritz Seider (D) – German Destroyer
This was the only write-up i could find on him
Even Kakko instead of J. Hughes would be nice there. I think he'd be a perfect fit in that slot spot that we are missing the right fit for. It's unfortunate he's a lefty but EP40 will make it work.J. Hughes- Horvat - Pettersson
Boeser- Q. Hughes
PP1 next year if we get the first pick lol. Drool.
Regardless of where this team is at approaching the deadline, they need to acquire additional picks.
Adding another high-end forward at the top of the draft and a dman towards the back-half of the 1st would be ideal.
What does he have that would getI agree completely, but I've made a bet that it won't happen -- that Benning won't acquire any extra picks in the first three rounds.
What does he have that would get
Him extra picks aside from his 2 Dmen. Whom he also needs to play with his 2 first round pick Dmen? This the double edge sword. They can get you assets but leaves the D looking like hot garbage without them.
Sutter, if they retain on him gets them a pick. Doubt any of the other D land that unless Hutton’s game remains where it currently is. Maybe granny gets a 3rd if he continues to show versatility to move up and down the lineup.
But that’s pretty much it. The vets they signed this year aren’t tradable with the term they have. Nilsson, see how he plays heading down the stretch but I doubt backup goalies without playoff experience are that highly sought after.

Hasn't he gone on record saying that he prefers young players instead of draft picks? (eg. Dahlen & Goldobin)
It should never be exclusively one or the other. Depends on what teams are prepared to give up.Hasn't he gone on record saying that he prefers young players instead of draft picks? (eg. Dahlen & Goldobin)

Outside of the top4 of Kakko, Hughes, Dach and Cozens, the player for me still seems to be Turcotte. He does everything and is still very skilled. However after him, or even in the place of him, my early target would be Suzuki. He is the best playmaker in the draft, IMO, and his skill level is higher than Turcotte's own. What's more, Suzuki's production has been great out of the gate.
Granted, there are some intensity/motor criticisms of Suzuki and people have called out his perimeter play. He's a finesse player. Saying that, imagine if he rectifies some of those deficiencies post draft? You would have a high end player on your hands as a result. I also see an easy conversion to LW for him if that is required.
This kid is going to climb the draft charts (if he hasn't already).
