I see cooter alot like kopitar where the league sort of knows hes the k8nd of guy you win with but doesn't get aknowledged til he wins.

Girouxs problem is that hes a premier forward but has never been the top guy. The yzerman comparison was too apt. Without a richard or a ross i dont know if hes a first ballot guy without stanley

This isnt anything personal to you or anything, but this triggers me more than i care to admit to.

Stevie Y was almost traded before they finally won a Cup in Detroit.

Two Trades that Almost Altered Red Wings History

there was a time when Yzerman seemed to have worn out his welcome in Detroit. He was a great player, but he just wasn’t a winner, the thinking went, and it was time for the franchise to turn the page and move on. In 1995, the Red Wings almost did just that.

They found a willing trade partner in Yzerman’s hometown team, the Ottawa Senators. The deal would have reportedly centered around young center Alexei Yashin, and while they’d no doubt deny it now, plenty of Red Wing fans thought it sounded like a fantastic idea. One rumor at the time said the deal was actually agreed to, and fell apart only when Detroit ownership stepped in at the last minute and nixed it.

It reminds me of this guy. Which means Konecny is Spud.

Just leaving it here

I dont buy that Provorov is expecting 10M at all - that sounds much more like their initial ask/start high. But if he really is expecting 10M? Here ya go chuck. Copy/Paste/Send.

Email Recipients: All Other NHL GMs
Subj: Ivan Provorov

Hey guys - we may be looking to move a guy due to our organizational depth, and we wanted to test the market on Ivan Provorov. Let me know what you guys are thinking.

Thanks,

Chuck

It would be easy for Fletcher if Provorov was demanding $10m. No sane Flyers fan would be on the player's side in that dispute.

More on Giroux. He has 3 top 3 finishes in scoring in the last 8 years. How do others compare and their placings?

4 times>Sid: 2, 3, 3, 1

3 times>Giroux: 3, 3, 3
McDavid: 2, 1, 1
Kane: 3, 3, 1,

2 times>Kuch: 1, 3
Stamkos: 2, 2
Benn: 2, 1

1 time:
Malkin: 1
Tavares: 2
Getzlaf: 2
Ovi: 3
St.Louis: 1

No one else has finished in the top 3 in scoring the last 8 years.

I wonder if Fletcher had already been told of this $10,000,000 number when he made the Braun trade, and the Hagg non-trade.

A Provorov holdout has real Ewing-theory vibes to me.

I had this thought too. It might explain some head scratchers
It's just hard to fathom such an ask. What basis could there be for it?

Just some interesting rankings to show how great he's been. Keep in mind that most of this was done on a rebuilding team.

5th in total points over the past 2 years
8th
in total points over the past 5 years (that injured year hurts his ranking here)
4th in total points over the past 10 years (his first full season until now)

5th in assists over the past 2 years
4th
in assists over the past 5 years
2nd
in assists over the past 10 years

7th in P/PG over the past 2 years (with 150+ games)
13th in P/PG over the past 5 years (with 300+ games)
8th in P/PG over the past 10 years (with 600+ games)

12th in PP points over the past 2 years (thanks to the Knob sabotage last year)
2nd in PP points over the past 5 years
2nd
in PP points over the past 10 years
Sounds like a barely top50 player to me :naughty::help: #notelite

With the qualification that Ewing was the Knicks' best player :DD

The York pick gives Fletch additional long-term leverage and flexibility.

I’ve never heard of him so I don’t know how credible he is, but from him today:

Provorov is asking for 10mil

Werenski is looking for a 3 year bridge between 5-5.9mil

Something seems off.
