Figure he'll be spending the next 7 weeks in Alberta for the World Juniors camp and tournament.

Oh, yeah I forgot about that. Makes a bit more sense then.

What a strange year this is.

McLeod scored an unassisted goal. Takeaway and nice finish.

Now has 3 goals and 3 assists in 10 games. Not bad considering he's the 3C with an average ice time of just over 12mins (just 1:30 on the PP). He's playing very well and should be getting a bigger role soon. His faceoff percentage is bad though (47,5%). Translates to 45% or even less in the NHL. Definitely something he has to work on if he wants to earn the trust of his Coaches.

47.5% isn't a great faceoff percentage, but it is an improvement over where it was at the start of the season. McLeod has won at least half of his faceoffs in his past 3 games, for a total of 19/34 (57.6%).

Lagesson is back in action. He's been loaned to Kristianstads IK in the Allsvenskan.

William Lagesson är klar för Kristianstads IK
"Defenseman William Lagesson from the NHL club Edmonton Oilers and who last played for Vita Hästen has signed a contract for the entire season. The Edmonton Oilers have the right to recall him when the NHL kicks off.

Coach Mikael Gath: As we are thin on the back end due to injuries, we are grateful that the Edmonton Oilers give us the opportunity to get William Lagesson to us. A two-way defenseman that will contribute energy and toughness that we will benefit greatly from.

Not the luckiest outcome for him. His last team wasn't great, but Kristianstad have taken Lavoie's team's(Vasby IK) spot as the worst team in the league. I'd expect his offensive numbers to take a hit since they've somehow scored six less goals than even Vasby.

Just to per-emptively end speculation about the why in this case (not that you brought it up but still :)).

Lagesson was (is) considered one the best defensemen this year in HockeyAllsvenskan, 9 pts in 11 games and rock solid in his own end.

Vita Hasten is not a bad team considering the players they have brought in on loan (otherwise they would be a bad team), the problem is that they tried to circumvent the rules by loaning players in a certain manner. Lagesson for example could only play with them because he was not signed by Edmonton, and they pretended that he would not be signing. Once he did sign he had to go because he was the last one in and the limit of players under NHL contract is 4 (he was no 5). Too bad he found a better team from the start.

Edit: better and/or more honest team
