Syracuse looks unbeatable.

I have to disagree. They have a strong team (yet again) but nothing compared to San Jose,
Barracuda's offence tips the scales for them, with a large margin after Tristan Langan signing.
(already did that before tbh, Tristan signing was a bit overkill)

And when looking at their ages, all of them except one (McCarthy) are 20-22 olds.

Last season stats (forwards)

In the juniors: (100 or more points)

Joachim Blichfeld (WHL) 55+63=118

Alexander Chemelevski (OHL) 47+59=106

In the AHL or in other pro leagues

Junior stats are nice, but they don't always translate to the pro's. Dany Roussin scored 115 and 116 his final two years in juniors, but only managed 12 AHL points in 44 games over parts of two seasons, and spent the rest of his career in the ECHL and LNAH. ( He was Sidney Crosby's winger in juniors. )

Syracuse looks unbeatable.

While Syracuse may seem solid in goal, defense has far too many question marks. Masin and Thomas have yet to prove they have the game in and game out ability to play the game at the AHL level. Unless one of the two Lukes makes it to Syracuse, their most physical defenseman is Gaunce. Foote has a good chance to make the Lightning out of camp so that creates another question mark. Forward should be OK depending on who clears waivers/is sent down. Both Syracuse and Tampa Bay looked good last year in the regular season, only to both choke their way to EPIC first round losses. No big signings or trades so far this off season, so only time will tell if standing pretty much pat with the same roster will work or not.

Dahlen apparently will be playing out his (last season on NHL) contract in Sweden.

You guys are really discounting Rochester...they were a top team last year, and they've only gotten better.

Victor Olofsson - Rasmus Asplund - Tage Thompson
CJ Smith - JS Dea - Curtis Lazar
Taylor Leier - Kevin Porter - Andrew Oglevie
Remi Elie - Sean Malone - Eric Cornel

Matt Hunwick - Will Borgen
John Gilmour - Zach Redmond
Jacob Bryson - Casey Fitzgerald

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen
Andrew Hammond
Jonas Johansson

Depth: Vasily Glotov, Jarrett Burton, Dalton Smith, Tyler Randell, Brandon Hickey, Andrew MacWilliam, Nathan Paetsch, Devante Stephens.

Others who could be in Rochester: Vladimir Sobotka, Scott Wilson, Matej Pekar, Arttu Ruotsalainen, Brett Murray, Casey Nelson, Henri Jokiharju, and Lawrence Pilut.

Players who could join for the playoffs: Dylan Cozens, Marcus Davidsson, Oskari Laaksonen, and Mattias Samuelsson.

That's as good as a team as you'll find in the AHL...a ton of talent, with a great mix of veteran leadership and high-quality prospects, plus great coaching.

* Six forwards are capable of 20 goals - Olofsson, Thompson, Smith, Dea, Lazar and Leier. (Elie had 8 goals in 25 games, so he's capable of 20 goals too.)

* Three of them are capable of 30 goals - Olofsson, Thompson and Smith. (Thompson had 8 goals in 11 games for the Amerks.)

* Two defensemen, Gilmour and Redmond, are capable of 20 goals and 50-60 points...both are All-Stars.

* Luukkonen was arguably the best goalie in the CHL last year...and he's a top-3 NHL goalie prospect. (He had a .941 SV% in his one AHL game.)

* Asplund had 41 points in 69 games as a rookie, in his first season in North America.

* Porter is a consistent 40 point player and, with Hunwick, makes for a great leader.

* Borgen, Bryson and Fitzgerald are top defensive prospects...all three were on the top-pair for big-time NCAA programs since they were freshmen.

PS. Thanks for what you do here, keeping this all together...I appreciate you doing this.

Keaton Middleton is on Barracuda roster (online) and featured this week in off season article.

Kinda have to think he signed a multi-year deal.

Ivan Kosorenkov and Marcus Vela are also listed on the Barracuda's roster along with the other players on AHL contracts.

MAC Újbuda (formerly MAC Budapest) plays in the Slovakian League.
