Yikes. 18 seconds on the clock before they run the play. Odd play by the QB which lead to some confusion because he ran into one of his guys then gave himself up by putting the ball down. Smart by AZ to jump on the ball since he didn’t go to the ground.

Because of the unusual way the QB gave himself up he has to talk to the refs that hey I gave myself up and forgets about the having to clock the ball. Gotta get to the line and snap it.

He kneeled and put the ball down so they were in position to spike it and go for the FG. Arizona State just decided to jump on it and the refs did nothing to stop the clock.
