Are these serious posts? Honest question.

The Cubs aren't relevant? They ahven't backed up 2016? What?

What exactly did the Sox do to "back up 2004"? They got swept in 2005, and missed the freaking postseason in 2006 prior to winning again.

The Cubs have made 3 straight NLCS, with 1 WS win in there, and frankly are probably on their way to a 4th appearance this season. Epstein has turned that franchise from a perennial joke into a perennial contender.

The Red Sox? Since they lost to Tampa in the ALCS in 2008, they have 12 playoff wins. TWELVE. In a ****ing decade. 11 of which came in 2013.

What the hell do the White Sox have anything to do with the Cubs by the way? Chicago is, and forever will be a Cubs city. The White Sox are irrelevant.

Lester must have had a good laugh when he read Price's line from last night. What was the contract they offered Lester? I know it was embarrassing but I forget the details.

Perfectly reasonable to still whine about Lester when you see what he has done for the Cubs/what Price has done for the Sox.

Because it was a stupid move. I'd whine about it too.

They didn't want to sign Lester because of age related concerns, only to then turn around and sign freaking Price to a ridiculous deal.

They are hypocrites, and deserve to get bashed for it.

Here is why people are still harping on Lester vs Price.

First off, mental make up isnt even close. Lester is a proven warrior and big game pitcher who wants the ball when the lights are brightest...Price has been proven to be the complete opposite. He lacks the mental toughness to perform under pressure.

In addition:

Lester:

54-27 in 113 starts (zero missed starts)
3.18 ERA
1.14 WHIP
11.8 WAR
$97.5 million in salary to date
850k per start, 1.7mill per win

Price:

32-18 in 63 starts (20+ missed starts in 2+ seasons)
3.95 ERA
1.21 WHIP
6.0 WAR
$90 million in salary so far (1 less season)
1.8 mill per start, 2.8 mill per win

and that isnt even getting into playoff performances which makes it look 10x worse for Price

Rick Porcello has won the Cy Young Award and pitched in the World Series. But what he did Monday night at Nationals Park will rank with the best memories he takes away from his career.

Facing Max Scherzer, one of the best pitchers of his generation, Porcello launched a three-run double in the second inning.
He also picked up the win as the Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals, 4-3.

Braves creeping back @ NYY. Would be nice to get some more help from them.

Also - they're gonna be real good, real soon. They have more kids coming up.

Why do you think Larry Luchino was exiled to Pawtucket?
The Jon Lester insult must haunt LL

I like Harper but he’d be an expensive 3rd OF for Boston

Betts has proven to be better than Harper & Stanton

Can’t fathom what he gets but $25 M seems easy per year

Be nice if Arizona could get him.

Boras will probably do something like 10/250 with multiple opt outs after like 3 and 6 years
