Just realized Boston originally drafted Alex Bregman out of HS back in 2012...he would look pretty decent at 3B right now.
Smart move on his part though...went from being a 29th rounder out of HS to 2nd overall out of college.
If it makes you feel any better, the Astros drafted JD Martinez and released him in 2014.
Bregman has been excellent in his short major league career thus far.
I understand there is typically more camaraderie between opposing baseball players than hockey players, but at the same time, as much as I appreciate Bregman's contributions on the field, he does have an annoying, Brad Marchand quality to him.
Speaking of the Astros, they are leading the league in hitting into double plays. And in all likelihood, they could not hit into another one the rest of the year and still lead the league.
I'm pulling for them, but right now they aren't that fundamentally sound. Lots of little league level base-running mistakes, average defensively, can't move runners, have been bad at home and the manager won't make adjustments, and if they don't hit home runs, they don't score. The bullpen is better though, with the additions of Pressly, Rondon, Osuna.
