Is this a joke? You don't want him to turn into a player who was a top 5 defenseman for most of the last decade? Ok.
Whatever you say. Suter become nothing after he moved from Weber.
Suter has been the top defenseman in Minnesota for his entire time there and routinely puts up 50 points. He's basically what we all thought McDonagh would become...McDonagh maybe peaked higher than him in some ways but couldn't stay there.
IMO Weber is kind of a "old NHL" style top defenseman. He was mobile enough for his size, played nasty and "good" defense, and had the huge shot that let him put up a lot of goals. As the NHL moved towards more mobile defensemen though, some of his shortcomings became more apparent...he isn't very good at moving the puck out of his own end and his skating is really just "good for a big guy" not good overall compared to the guys who ended up taking over as top defensemen in the NHL.
Basically, if we're shooting for the moon with Miller, I want him to be a better skater and puck mover than Weber ever was because he's subpar at those things in todays NHL.
