Matt Olson hits a should-be double off the 1b bag and the derp ass ump who's looking right at it calls it foul.

Extra innings in Oakland.

EDIT- Never mind, Khris Davis did Khris Davis things and it was ONE extra inning.

We got a rare Blake Treinen sighting for the first time in a week.

Twins bullpen- Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200

Khris Davis is now 4 hr's shy of Ortiz's record of 47 hr's as a dh in a season. Davis has 45, but 2 came as a fielder.

Two clinch scenarios tomorrow- Braves can clinch with a win, Yankees can get in with a win and a Tampa loss.

Really long leash for Wainwright for some reason and the Giants have now scored 3 runs in the 7th. Would be a devastating loss for STL, you can't lose to these Giants at home in such a tight race.

Molina! 2 run homer ties it up. 4-4.

Unless Colorado gets hot the final week, we’re looking at 3 NL Central teams in the playoffs

Cardinals..... just when you think they’re about to wobble in September, Devil Magic strikes again.

They lose 3 of 4 to the Dodgers, but win twice at Atlanta, 2 wins already here, and Colorado’s slump at LA....... given the state of the NL compared with the AL, they’lll probably make the World Series because that league is wide open.

Unless they collapse and Colorado surges in the final week...... they are the NL team to watch out for because previous Octobers have shown they are very hard to put away

Impressive by the Braves.

The Phillies imploded down the stretch. Couldn't win on the road or teams with lesser records.

The turning point for the Phillies was the West Coast road trip. 2-4 at Arizona/San Diego.

The first game set the tone for their late season slump- blow a 2-0 9th inning lead, lose in extra innings, don’t win a series for a month plus

Phillies are still on the upswing.

All of this was made possible by the Nationals underachieving much more than they usually do. They have some tough decisions this offseason. Still should be very competitive if they get things right.

I expect the division to still be a dogfight next season.

Even the NL races are starting to drift away. The Brewers and Cardinals have both all but locked up the two wild card births. Colorado has a pulse, but the Dodgers have a 3 game lead plus two very easy series to close out the month. The smallest screw up by the Rockies and they're dead in the water.

I suppose the NL Central is still up for grabs but the fact is all 3 of those teams are playoff bound anyway, kills a lot of the drama.

I was hoping for absolute chaos. Oh well.

Apparently it is impossible to score runs against the Pirates’ Trevor Williams
