Want Zadina and at 22nd Miller or Kravtsov. Dennisenko would work too, so I am fully prepared to be really disappointed.

I think handing over the 4th OA to Colorado is looking more and more like the right move. This team is a gong show. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Disagree Mickle, even if we lose Karlsson this offseason and finish last the likeliest spot we draft next year (assuming we finish last) is still 4th. I don't think we do as bad next year as we did last year, that was a team that looked very poisoned in that locker room. I think Dorion will be looking to instill some youth into the lineup, and sometimes the vets feed off of that energy the young kids bring off. If Anderson and Karlsson are back to themselves next year, we should be in the playoff hunt again.

I think Montreal takes Kotkaniemi and Ottawa takes Zadina ... but I'd personally rather they take Dobson or Tkachuk... But there are some good players available and I trust they've done their homework and will pick one we will all like eventually.

At 22... Kaut, Bokk, Kupari are likely gone .. I'd go back to the London Knights for Foudy. He would stay in junior and avoid all the fumes
Didn't realize Kaut jumped so high in the rankings. Wanted him at 22 when he was ranked to go in the 2nd round.

Kaut is going to be a better player than Tkachuk.

There's some really nice European forwards that should be around our 22 pick.

Hoping for Breggen. Dude is Pastranak clone.

We need to continue to swing for homeruns and Breggen is in that category. Im willing to risk selecting a bust if it means we hit a homerun every now and again. No more safe picks please. Elite talent is what we need. We have enough 3rd line and 3rd pairing d men .

That seems very optimistic. Brassard and Hoffman gone already, that's a good chunk of our offence right there, looking 50/50 at best that Karlsson stays (and that's being optimistic from the reports out there), Anderson is a year older; at 37 there haven't been many goalies put up average numbers, so a bounce back season is far from a sure thing, or even a likely one.

Maybe we are better than last year, but I doubt we do much better. Next year's draft is deeper at the top, so we don't need to end up 4th to have a better pick. Possibly could still get a better player as deep as 7-10th. The risk is minimal, and we need to hit a homerun if Karlsson is gone, so that's our best shot at doing it.

If Karlsson sticks around, keep this years pick. If he's gone though, Idk, it's a tough call. We won't give it up because with this franchise they always seem to want to feign as though there's a chance they could make the playoffs, and swaping the pick would be an admission we've given up.

Man, just two more days. It really snuck up on us with all the other crapola happening.

I would really love to find a way to sneak up to #2 and grab Svechnikov. I get a bit of a bust vibe with him...but his upside is sooooo good.

Still having a hard time getting excited for anyone in the 3-10 range. Really feels like quite a dropoff.

If I had to make a top 3, probably Dobson, Tkachuk, Zadina, in that order. Honorable mention to Kotkaniemi. But, they all seem so meh compared to the top 2.

At #22 although a bit of a reach, I would love it if we got Liam Foudy. I was able to watch him quite a bit this year, the comparison of Formenton is a perfect one for Foudy but he has more of an offensive upside.
Realistically, I would say Formenton will become a bottom-6 forward that will be a PK specialist kinda like the way Stalberg was for us.
Foudy on the other hand has top-6 potential because of his offensive ability, I would compare him to Carl Haglien or Andrew Cogliano.
Earlier in the season I was hoping we could snag him up with one of our late picks but he just kept on getting better as the season went on.

Ok that is final, I want Jonathan Berggren with the 22nd pick if he's still available. The skating, the shot and the offensive potential is too high to pass up on him. He's 5'11 but his skating looks NHL ready.

Their owner is crazy our owner is crazy id deal Karlsson for the pick 1 for 1.

Draft Svechnikov at 2, Dobson at 4 and Dellandria at 22 and then this team can really commit to a rebuild.

Delledandria was just superb at the U 18's he really reminds me alot of Toews. Not super skilled but skilled enough to play with very elite players while bringing a ton of compete, skill, speed and tenacity to the center ice position.

If Kaut and Bokk are gone I'd have no issue with Beggren. I'm definitely starting to like the forwards in that range more than the defencemen though.

Agreed at selecting a forward at 22. Which to me means if Zadina is gone at 3 they should really take a D man in my opinion. I really dont like Bouchards mobility, he is never moving his feet when he makes plays. Looks like a man with boys, late birthday I just dont see the upside to his game evolving. Would prefer Dobson and Hughes even Boqvist over him.

One of Hughes/Zadina and Bokk and I'd be over the moon

If they Habs swap with Arizona I'd love to be able to grab Kotkaniemi.

A: He'd be a great pick

B: Would make Montreal look even worse
I'm really expecting a trade between MTL and DET or Zona to happen. I'm bracing myself for Zadina to be gone by the time we pick. So ya, getting Jesperi would be very satisfying on multiple levels.

Really really really don't want Bouchard. I think I have stated this at least 10 times on here, and feel the need to do so again. However I leave it up this team to dissapoint me once more.

Ya I kind of share that mindset. I have Bouchard at the bottom of Hughes and Dobson. If we're going to end up with Bouchard, I'd rather give the pick up.

I don't dislike Bouchard anywhere near as much as some others around these parts, but I wouldn't be overly happy with him unless we traded down (to #6 or #7) and picked up an additional asset.

I really think people need to start bracing for Tkachuk though, just looks like it's gonna shake out that way, imo.

You know what? I bet they take Brady. Just to pile on.

How would that be piling on... I have heard from all the Tkachuk detractors over and over ... not enough skill...look at his stats... Bowers ... I think Tkachuk will be a really good player. I can see over 60 pts peak, and a consistent 50-60 pt 2 way guy while making his linemates more productive. There is no way Zadina is a match for Tkachuk's 2 way play and without improved speed he certainly would not be in the NHL. Blueline in Zadina is really good .. shifty and he can score... no question and I think He'll out point Tkachuk on average but I think Tkachuk will offer more and be more valuable. I would take Dobson, Tkachuk or Kotkaniemi over Zadina

Alright well, then let's say it would be a personal disappointment. I have Brady in the bottom half of my top 10 (noting that I know more about these guys from this thread than any personal scouting, so my opinion is essentially worthless).

I would have similar feelings to the day we took Zib. Ya sure he could be a great player, and lots of folks really liked the pick, but I was disappointed we didn't take my boy Couts.

I want a skilled forward or a speedy defenceman.

9/10 Bob Mckenzie scouts had Tkachuk top 5. Only 5/10 had Zadina top 5. 4/10 scouts had Dobson top 5.

I think it's safe to say we're missing something by just looking at stats and seeing him periodically.

My order of preference as of today:
1. Dobson (D) - #1 D upside
2. Kotkaniemi (C) - First line centre upside
3. Zadina (LW/RW) - First line winger upside
4. Tkachuk (LW/RW) - First line winger upside
5. Bouchard (D) - Top 3 upside, PP specialist

### Give the pick to Colorado* ###
#########################

6. Hughes (D)
7. Wahlstrom (LW/RW)
8. Smith (D)
9. Boqvist (D)
10. Hayton (C)

*Next year is not looking like a great year for top pairing right shot d-men. If you're looking for one you won't get a better chance than this year in the top 7.
