Finished +7.
Said it a couple times now but, Samorukov impressed the hell out of me at the wjc and I thought he was the best dman of the tourney. he just keeps impressing since then. I can’t help but get excited to see how he does next year as a pro

Edit: to clarify I don’t expect him to be a top pairing dman at the nhl but he could very well end up being a player like Larsson for us down the road. I’m liking the defencemen we’ve drafted lately in jones, bear, and now Samorukov.

My worry is that he's buried deep on the depth chart down in Bakersfield.

Jones/Bouchard
Lagesson/Bear
Lowe/Day
Manning/Samourukov

Guessing Persson is given preference over Bouchard for an NHL spot.

NHL bottom 3 D:
Sekera/Benning
Persson

Obviously there is a chance that Benning is traded, Manning bought out.

Honestly I’d like to see bear used as trade bait/sweetener as of the three dmen I listed I see bear as the more expendable

And this team does need to move on from Benning for the love of god

I think a Benning for Connor Brown trade makes a lot of sense. Both players have one year left. I'm guessing at worst we make a small add.

As for Bear... I'm for it if we can get a solid forward prospect.

I think we’re at the point of having to make a move like that, don’t want to stunt the development of other top talent if you can move assets around to be more efficient. I feel like Nashville would be a perfect example

Will McLeod be turning pro next season or does he have another year that he can go to the OHL?

I think he and Maksimov are more likely than Safin. If they feel they only have room for 2 of the 3 they might want to see Safin get some healthy playing time in junior.

Maksimov and McLeod need to start learning at the next level.

I think there's a 99% chance he's in Bakersfield next year. His game is pro-ready.

Thanks. Has he been better at going to the "battle areas" of the ice this season? IIRC the knock on him last season was that he was a perimeter player.
