Who's going to be turning pro with the condors next year? Samurokov/McLeod/Bouchard/Maksimov/Safin? Who stays back as a 20?
Safin probably heads overseas next year. He's missed the majority of this season and he looked very raw last year. If he stays in NA, the ECHL is probably his starting destination.

Safin I thought was very good last year. But his team was a disaster. 14 wins in 68 games and the second lowest number of goals for in the Q. He did lead his team in goals scored by 10.

I just remember what I saw from him at the WJC and in training camps. He was producing around a PPG in the Q, but that time missed is a pretty big concern.

I'm not sure his transition is guaranteed to go a smoothly as Benson's has.

That's fine. You can still have him fight for a spot on the Condors

For me Benson is the much higher end prospect. Safin is a project, but a project that does the one thing teams most covet. He scores goals. The Oilers need to cultivate a guy or two who can do that. Forget about making everyone into a two way player. Someone needs to simply put the puck in the net. Right now Safin and Maksimov both have that potential. Let's hope one guy turns out.

Did he lead with his elbow there?
Oh 100%, as soon as he knew he was going to hit him arm went right up. People think it was a revenge hit for their last game when Samorukov laid a huge clean hit.

Because he just came off a suspension, he will probably get another 10+ for this one.

That looked like a clean hit though.
