Woj saying that we're discussing Enes & Zbo, but lookin for a third team...makes me wonder if we're trying to get the Kings to help us make a Lee trade work, either by eating some salary from a team this year, or by kicking in one of their surplus SRPs.
Maybe something like this:
Parker + McLemore + Randolph to NYK
Kanter + Hezonja to SAC
Lee + Thomas + SRP (x2) to CHI
- Kings get another body at the 3, who they were pursuing over the summer, and Enes to help them on the glass. Assuming they won't take any 2019-2020 money onto their books, they can kick in one of their SRPs for the boost to their rotation.
- We (NYK) bolster our tank, clear PT (and a roster spot) for the kids, and move Lee's ~12M off the books for next year, at the cost of our SRP this year & the locker-room presence of Lee & Thomas on this young team.
- Bulls dump Jabari "they don't pay me to play defense" Parker for two great locker-room vets who have been doing a lot for our kids off the court/on the bench, going over stuff with them to explain things that the kids are struggling with or the coaches are trying to reinforce, and they really help set a professional & hardworking tone in practice...which could help the baby Bulls' survive Boylen.
Lance can be waived before 6/30/19 for no caphit if they don't want to keep him, and Lee expires before the summer of AD that GarPax have so many fantasies about. So the money they take on wouldn't interfere with their delusions, and they'd get a pair of SRPs as compensation.
Am I just being a homer to think something like this could work for all three teams given their respective FOs' goals?
