Good job by Laval. Headed to OT.

Belleville lost to Charlotte and thus, Laval officially moves to 6th place ahead of Belleville and Binghamton.

WOW! McNiven with a huge save there.

Real exciting OT. Shootout coming up.

Froese: Saved
Olofsson: Saved
Audette: Saved
Simpson: Goal
Belzile: Goal
O'Regan: Saved
Evans: Saved
Asplund: Saved
Grenier: Saved
Nylander: Goal

Rochester wins it in a shootout.

Laval moved to 6th place, tied with Belleville in points, but having a game in hand puts them ahead.

They're 3 points behind 5th place Toronto, who have 2 games in hand on Laval.

They're also 5 points behind 4th and 3rd, with a game in hand on Utica but Cleveland has 3 games in hand on Laval.

Laval's record in the last 11 games is 6-2-3 with 15 points of a possible 22.

And LaCouvee has looked good in the two games he played. He will get the start this afternoon. So we'll get the chance to see if he can be consistent. He's 24 and this is his first year in the pros. If he impresses tonight, I would seriously consider offering him an AHL/ECHL contract and once Lindgren returns, send LaCouvee or McNiven to the ECHL and have some more goaltender depth in the organization.

Should Niemi end up traded and Lindgren brought up to be Price's back-up, the organization will still have McNiven, Marcoux, and LaCouvee who can take up the two spots in Laval, while still having one in the ECHL.

And I would look to sign Samuel Harvey once his season is over in the Q.

Two changes to the line-up. Adam Plant draws in for Michal Moravcik and Connor LaCouvee gets the start. Juulsen, McCarron, and Shinkaruk are still out with injuries.

Laval will start the game with their 4th line. They've looked pretty good together, bringing some energy. Even scored a goal against Belleville on Wednesday.

Good rhythm to start the game from both teams. But Laval now on the PK for Too Many Men.

- Redmond scores on the PP to make it 1-0 for Rochester.

A good shift from the 4th line. But while on the counter attack, Laval gets called for a penalty. Back to the PK.

4 minute major to Verbeek for high-stick.

Great penalty kill by Laval. Gave Rochester nothing. Now Rochester gets called for a high-stick. So some 4-on-4 for about 20 seconds and then Laval goes on a small PP.

Laval JUST about scored there. Don't know how it didn't go in. But in the scramble, Rochester gets called for another penalty.

Edit: they hit the post in that scramble.

Good end to the period for Laval. They were killing off a 4-minute penalty beautifully, then draw a penalty, go on the PP, build momentum, hit the post, then draw another penalty with 5 seconds left in the period. And they just about scored right off the face-off but Grenier's shot was off-target.

Laval looking better in the second period.

Laval ties it! Audette makes it 1-1. Beautifully set up from behind the net by Martineau. Some scrambling in front of the net, but Audette ensures his stick pushes it in while being dragged down.

Audette's 8th point in his last 8 games played.

Dangerous hit by Tennyson on Pezzetta and Plant jumps to defend his teammate. Some dropped gloves, but refs pretty much reacted quickly to stop it all. Pezzetta gets up and doesn't look affected. Lucky for him as it looked like it could have been worse. Not exactly dirty in the sense that Pezzetta was low on the ice and Tennyson's knee got him. There was no head hunting.

However, Rochester will go on the PP because Plant may end up getting called for instigating.

And almost right away, Belzile gets called for a high-stick. Rochester gets a 5-on-3 for about 1:30.

An amazing kill by Laval on that PK. They successfully killed the 5-on-3 and then the 5-on-4.

Laval outshot this period, but the shot count doesn't exactly tell the story as they played much better in the second period, as Rochester got a 5-on-3 for nearly a full 2 minutes. LaCouvee made some good saves, but nothing spectacular needed. He's very solid back there. Rochester did hit the post, though. But Laval put on a lot of pressure.

It's evident that Laval is missing some high end scoring, particularly with McCarron out. But they are a real blue collar team, always working hard. Evans isn't having his best game, so Bouchard swapped Martineau and Evans, and Martineau looks good next to Audette and Froese, assisting on Audette's goal.

Laval has a habbit of coming out real strong in the third period. I find they usually play with a lot more fire in the final period. So hopefully they can make something they do and carries them to at the very least to get a point in OT/SO.

If you remove the first 9 games where he was help pointless, Audette has 16 pts in 23 GP which is more than decent. Glad he's picked it up, Laval needs all the help they can get.

Is there any hope still for Audette?

God Sly was useless. Start wondering about what could've happened with some of the others.
