Stoke me a clipper.
Here's one with Brodie as 007, not sure if I got the size right tbh.

James Bond theme would also be cool.

How about a Lookalikes theme?

Giordano is already pegged as Mr Bean.

Other players can be just reverse-GIS for a similar person, if not always a famous face.

What about a Peters/Peters drive in self depreciating humour theme?

“What a bunch of scrubs!” (Characters wearing scrubs like the cashiers)
Fast food - Lazar burger, Gaudreau small fries
My milk shakes brings all the boys to the yard?
Real ice cream, real fruit, real whipped cream
Cholesterol
Diabetus
Overrated / classic
Drive through / drive by
16th Avenue / Trans Canada Highway

I think the Museum one was really funny. Just because it's a completely false statement that lazy media people and nerd hockey fans ran with.

This is the thing, I'm much more a fan of basing avatars around something that's seemingly relevant, whether it's a meme or whatnot, than just shoehorning in some random reference that doesn't make sense.

Yeah I think something like this could work out. Not a full blown movie poster photoshop where all the detail is lost in a small avatar, but maybe photoshopping a character's face and putting some movie logo or something.

Vote for Museums.

But if we do it, it absolutely has to be in a positive, tribute to Dougie spirit. I mean many of us really liked him a lot, and even with all the trade talk, not a lot of people wanted to trade him (other than seeing him as the best piece available for top line RW)

Hey, I take exception to those against wrestling. He said wrestling, not Pro Wrestling. One's an actual sport (you know... Olympics and all that) and the other is make believe fantasy for 10 year olds.
I'm good with wrestling.... the Olympic kind that is.

Well yeah.
I don't think anyone's doing it to be an asshole to Dougie.

Actually, the Museum has nothing to do with Dougie. The entire quote was Shannon trying to find a made-up example of something. Let's put it this way, it has never been confirmed that Dougie Hamilton went to the museum while the team ate at Moxie's.

Even if he did, I wouldn't blame him for going to a museum over Moxie's. Moxie's is garbo. Anyway, I voted Star Wars, but am okay with a Night at the Museum theme; I just really wanted to imagine Backlund as Bossk.

I have it on good authority that he did. He and Ben Stiller are closer than brothers (sorry Freddie) and he had to be there before everyone and everything came alive.

Besides it was Moxies. I'd probably ditch a team get together at Moxies. Now if it was Hy's Steak House, that's something totally different.

The image of Van Gogh Self Portrait 1889 as Sam Bennett makes me laugh so damn much. Monahan as a Frida Kahlo also kills me for some reason. The Kiss with Harvey the Hound kissing Frolik or something... The joy this'll bring me is legit

I'm torn between museum and Peter's drive in. The Museum one is a really dang good one. I wish I could vote more than once... I haven't voted yet.

Another pun for the Peters theme could relate to choking / Heimlich.

There are enough movie posters out there that could handle the size issue. LOTs of closeup posters:

Jagr's head as The Perminator
s-l225.jpg
Chronicles of Rittich (nobody knows what he looks like anyways so the title alone works)

Hamilton, Ferland and Fox's faces.
JOHNWICK-poster-a.jpg
John Hockey

There's lots of posters that are recognizable enough with the faces being able to be distinguishable
