Even though the Tigers have been a bigger playoff nemesis for Oakland from the AL Central, it seems like the Royals elicit stronger feelings from A's fans than Detroit.
Detroit won simply because of Verlander. If they didn't have him, A's win both of those series.
Those were great, 5-game series where it was left on the field. I have no bad feelings towards them.
The '14 wildcard was probably the best game I've ever seen. Both teams kept answering the other. They just happened to get the breaks late and won.
I don't like them because they tried to make Brett Lawrie a human dart board for an awkward slide (albeit a late one). But, it was a ball off the pitcher that was then fielded by Moustakas and thrown to 2nd. Almost every 3b throws that ball to 1st, and Lawrie was caught off guard. They got their shot in the next day, which was fine, but Herrera then throwing and pointing at his head was totally bush league. They then carried it past that series and into multiple others against other teams.
Can't wait until that group is disbanded and they're stuck with Gordon and Kennedy's contracts.
