Nielsen should be next IMO. I don't understand what Bracco has done that sepperates him from Nielsen, Rychel, Brooks, etc...

Definitely Nielsen for me.

39 points in 74 games as a 19 year old D in the AHL - that's impressive regardless of his skating & physicality problems.

Hell, Nielsen almost matched Johnsson in scoring, and he's a D man who is two years younger (which is very significant at this stage in the AHL).

Unless Nielson fixes his defensive game bigly, he will not see an NHL game. He is that bad...

If Borgman was drafted we would probably have him in our top 4.

Yeah.
I mean, i would have had Dermott at #1 or #2 instead of #3,
and i'd have had Borgman go at #4
but Bracco at #6 is the first pick where i'm in genuine disagreement.

As in, i'd have him more in the 10-15 range,
and i'd love to be wrong, i WANT to be wrong,
but i'll give it another year to be right or wrong.

I'm happy with Borgman, Johnsson at this slot.

He really is not. I watched him on the Marlies. He reminds me of Phaneuf, but with the opportunity to properly iron out his issues. Phaneuf without the issues that makes people cringe... He would probably be a perennial All-Star. Whether he does it or not is another question, but he made some great strides throughout his year on the Marlies and was a pretty good 1D while Dermott was out. Just sucks he did not have a ton of support around him when he was that guy.

This time around though, he gets Borgman and Rosen (if not Dermott) with him on the left side, either Holl or LoVerde as his RD partner. LoVerde may be the best signing the Leafs made this offseason (besides maybe Hainsey), and could help out Nielsen like he helped Gravel and Forbort turn from near busts to legit NHLers while he was captain in Manchester/Ontario.

Neilson's game really made strides down the stretch run of the season.
Good reason to be excited for this year.
I'd be fine with him slotting into this spot,
and no way should he drop out of the top-10.

I watched a lot of Marlies games also, the two best and most NHL ready Marlies last season were Dermott and Johnsson, agree?

wrong order then take Nielsen out and put him down near #15 or so

You seriously have Valiev higher than Nielsen?

Nielsen is no where near the 15th best prospect we have. He's still top 10.

Valiev should hardly stick in the top 20-25 at this point.

Valiev had knee surgery in January ... He will play in the NHL soon.

He is not. Valiev was injured last year and is a more complete defenseman than Nielsen. Nielsen is not an NHL prospect with his defensive game in tatters. Definitely not top 10 in this organization.
