Surprised Englund is lacing them up for Sweden.

AFAIK, he's the anchor on their shutdown d-pair. He's going to do a lot of heavy lifting for Sweden in his own zone and on the PK. Plus, he's a favorite to get at least an assistant's "A".

Not sure why you would be surprised.

Interested to see Siegenthaler and Malgin from Switzerland. I was hoping for Siegenthaler at the draft, Malgin is great but obviously a little small.

They're going to lean a lot on Pius Suter as well. He'll have a good tournament, should be the #1C, with Malgin centering the 2nd line.

Why would Bracco and Connor not be released for the tourney?

And seriously Carolina... You wont let Hanifin go? What are you trying to go from 26th place to 25th haha.

What do you mean? They don't have to be released, they are not even signed by their teams yet. They just never got invited.

Forgot Bracco went to the CHL, but in Connor's case, I thought college teams had to allow players to go to the tourney like NHL teams.

Bunch of names on that US list I've never even heard of. Like Ryan Hitchcock 5-10 forward who was passed twice in the draft and has 6pts in 11gp as a sophomore in Yale. Huh?
