I'd be surprised if Nyquist wasn't there but that actually looks like a pretty sensible roster.

Krüger did really good IMO, perfect 4C, but Backlund isn't terrible either.

Do you think Hörnqvist have a better chance of making the team now that he is gonna play with either Malkin or Crosby?

Steen - Bäckström - Hörnqvist

Erik Karlsson - OEL
V Hedman - Strålman
Brodin - Hjalmarsson
H. Lindholm
Edler

Zetterberg - Bäckström - Burakovsky
Landeskog - E Lindholm - Forsberg
D Sedin - H Sedin - Hörnqvist
Steen - Kruger - Hagelin
Söderberg
Nyguist/Möller

Lundqvist
Enroth

Can happens alot in 2 years time and there a lot of young player up and coming. One thing is sure though and that is that EK that is by far the best d-man in the world, will play a key-role. He is the one that can not be injured. Ek worked good with both Edler and OEL in the OC, but if you dont play OEL with EK, it is hard to find a place for OEL.

Hedman and Strålman hopefully will be a dynamic pair ready to go.

Among the forwards I have high hopes for Forsberg, Burakovsky and Lindholm. Nylander could be a joker, but think 2 years is to short time.

It is hard to not include Enström, he is a favorite, in my mind he has the best skating-skills in the hockey world. But there is no place for him plus he do not seem very motivated.

Yes, but I do think that he is a better match with the sedins. Plus he is not good enough for top 6, and sedins in 2 years i think will be the third line (if not they do not bounce up from last bad season), while Bäckström most likely will play in top 6.

Steen was a disappointment in the olympics, he is a solid player but not top 6 material in my book.

Burakowsky, Forsberg, Lindholm and especially Wennberg will be interesting to watch in the future.

I also have a hard time seeing Nyquist being left off.

Landeskog - Zetterberg - Nyquist
Burakowsky - Bäckström - Forsberg
Berglund - Wennberg - Lindholm
Zibanejad - Krüger - Hagelin

Who knows? Anything can happen.

Hjalmarsson - Karlsson
OEL - Hedman

Strålman - Lindholm

On small ice I think Silfverberg and Johansson adds more in size and allround ability. Jimmie Ericsson hopefully is around in two years as well. Elias Lindholm will fly by soon, too.

But...28 goals is heavy. And we need scoring.

Maybe Sedin - Sedin - Nyquist could work?

Perhaps. But will Sedins even be on the team? If they keep going like this season, and some young kids take big steps, I can see them being left off.

Though, MÃ¥rts is the coach, so they will probably be there, no matter what.

Do you guys consider Brodin more or less a lock to make the team in 2016/18?

He's in a good spot. MÃ¥rts has his contract over 2016, but I assume that means through the 2015/16 season and not the start of 2016/17 aswell? We'll see I guess. If MÃ¥rts remains the coach who knows.

Hjalmarsson-Karlsson
Hedman-Strålman
OEL-Brodin
Kronwall-Ericsson

Since Hedman is coming in, it makes much sense to bring Strålman aswell who looks like his regular partner going forward. Good pairing and we get another R-shooter.

Hedman takes Edler's spot. Strålman takes Oduya's spot. Brodin takes Tallinder's spot. I'd follow Lindholm closely aswell, but I don't mind Ericsson in the #8 role.

Doesn't anyone think that Nylander will make it, at least for the OG 2018?

I donno, he needs to gain some bulk before hes NHL reddy, I feel that he might not end up as good as we might believe, Wennberg Burakovski Forsberg and E. Lindholm will all be better then him in 2018 is my prediction

OK, Nyquist lovers, he's smallish, one-dimensional and didn't score any points in the Olympics. The only way I see him joining the team is if Zetterberg vouch for him.

Franzén - Zetterberg - Nyquist
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Steen - Bäckström - Hörnqvist
Landeskog - Berglund - Johansson
Hagelin - Söderberg

Forsberg - Backlund - Zibanejad

Krüger - Ericsson

Hedman/Edler/Ekman-Larsson - Karlsson
Kronwall - Ericsson
Hjalmarsson - Oduya
Ekman-Larsson/Hedman - Edler/Strålman

Enström - Brodin
Lindholm - Grossmann
Ekholm - Gunnarsson

We need more meatballs like Marcus Johansson, Carl Söderberg and Silfverberg. Possibly even Johan Franzén! Remember Mårts is a weight fascist in every aspect besides Johnny Oduya instead of Victor Hedman. Canada on small ice in Canada REQUIRES Swedish meatballs. Lead my rips: MEAT BALLS. On skates, in pyjamas and hot. Home made. Jimmie Ericsson!
