I think I read that Hamhuis would only waive for a contender and really preferred to stay in the West. He's also made it known that he'd like to re-sign with the Canucks in the summer.

Pretty clear he is in no rush to leave Vancouver, even temporarily, and is only going to the right situation where he has a good shot at a cup.
