LoL that's Valuev. WHo is actually a member of parlament.
He looks like a Frank Miller cartoon character from Sin City or something. Or a child's nightmare.

I like the pick. Great size and skill package. Sounds like a Thommie Bergman sleeper.
Do Korshkov, Korostelev and Chebykin have a chance at the Russian World Junior Roster this year?
I think Korshkov was on the team last year and should return.
Nvm. Korshkov is a 96. What about the other two?
I'll take it. Find a hidden gem in Russia for our final pick.
Hunter said both Bergman and Vuori recommended him so that's good.
This was the right place in the draft to take a flyer on a guy with that dirty word "potential". It's the middle round 6'4/5 d-men that can't skate and therefore have trouble defending that is making me scratch my head a bit.
The Russians we took all look like decent prospects.

I'm always pretty confident with a Bergman pick

Our obligatory 7th rounder Tommy Bergmann special

They took kids off really bad teams [Like Chebykin, whose 35 points this season came on a team where nobody else had over 23].
6'3", 209... He's so big, man.
It's crazy that he put up 35 points and no one got more than 23. Shows he does have the skill. I wish Russia was an easier market to access for game tape. Especially the MHL.
Anyone know his KHL status? How many Russian fans do we have?
His stat line reminds me of Gurianov from last year, granted a year later.
From Hunter's post-draft interview it sounds like he is trying out for his KHL team and thus may miss the development camp. Hunter seemed okay with that and wants to give the kid time to develop.
I hope one of our picks from Russia ends up as a Tarasenko level winger.
