Do Korshkov, Korostelev and Chebykin have a chance at the Russian World Junior Roster this year?

I think Korshkov was on the team last year and should return.

Nvm. Korshkov is a 96. What about the other two?

Korostelev needs to be very good at the SuperSeries, but Chebykin's chances are pretty legit.

I'll take it. Find a hidden gem in Russia for our final pick.

Don't know about the gems, but he looks like a pure gold:

Hunter said both Bergman and Vuori recommended him so that's good.

This was the right place in the draft to take a flyer on a guy with that dirty word "potential". It's the middle round 6'4/5 d-men that can't skate and therefore have trouble defending that is making me scratch my head a bit.

The Russians we took all look like decent prospects.

No one we drafted is labeled as someone who "can't skate", size doesn't equal poor skating. They're not burners, but please show me where it said they "can't skate."

Are you talking about Greenway?

An intriguing stat courtesy of Maple Leafs Hotstove:
They took kids off really bad teams [Like Chebykin, whose 35 points this season came on a team where nobody else had over 23].

35pts in 39GP... nearly a point-a-game on a team where no one else could score. Pretty impressive numbers.

6'3", 209... He's so big, man.

It's crazy that he put up 35 points and no one got more than 23. Shows he does have the skill. I wish Russia was an easier market to access for game tape. Especially the MHL.

Anyone know his KHL status? How many Russian fans do we have?

His stat line reminds me of Gurianov from last year, granted a year later.

From Hunter's post-draft interview it sounds like he is trying out for his KHL team and thus may miss the development camp. Hunter seemed okay with that and wants to give the kid time to develop.

Goes through all five players.. and gets his own rebound.... :)

Really impressed with his quick release and his hands in tight around the net!
If he keeps going like that and adds some size to survive in front of the net in the nhl, he should make it one day.

Back in the WHL?

When was he in the Dub?

Are you mixing him up with Vladimir Bobylev whom Leafs took in the 5th round last year that played in Victoria of the WHL?.
