A couple of years ago, Oskars Bartulis and Erik Gustaffson would have been at the top. Crazy how things have changed.

Hextall has done an incredible job stocking the pipeline with talent in a short amount of time. We should be contenders for many years to come. We're missing a star center prospect but with giroux having multiple years left in this position this shouldn't be an issue. Plus very solid chance we ll have a surplus of good top 4 defenseman to use as bait to land a missing piece. The next 5+ years are going to be fun as a fan and we may see the best defense assembled in team history if things work out. Fingers crossed.

I do agree that in the upcoming drafts, they really need to try to find that high end 1C replacement.

Or absolute worse case, keep stock piling blue chip D-men and trade for a 1C like Nashville did with Jones.

Guys like Provorov, Morin, Sanheim and Konecny could graduate by the time of the 2017 polls if they have become regular NHLers by the end of the season like Cousins did in 15-16. Of the top 20 skaters Bardreau is the oldest at 23, so no one will age out before the next round of polls.

Thanks to everyone who voted and left non-worthless comments.

Thanks for doing this. Always interesting to see where the more hardcover fanbase has expectations.

I'm a little curious to see what happens if I go back and only count votes from those who commented in the appropriate threads since there's often talk of a vocal minority in some cases.

Can we do some more polls to see where people think the goalies slot into the skaters too?

Would be interesting... I think 4 goalies would displace skaters.

So for Stolarz options would be:

1: Above Provorov
2: Between Provorov & Sanheim
3: Between Sanheim & Konecny

etc

Just go until a goalie is voted for most as 'behind Hogberg' basically.

While I don't personally agree with it, having a kid who was picked 82nd overall in the most recent draft, not make the top 20 skaters shows the depth of the organization.

If you have time, take a peak at other team's boards and their top 20 rankings. You will realize how well positioned the organization is going forward.

What I like, is the amount of guys with WJC experience.

10 skaters and 2 goalies have played in the WJC.
This year, Rubstov, Vorobyov and Hart should be locks...with Myers as a possibility.
Following year, Laberge, Allison, Hogberg, Berntardt could be added.

No matter what, that should be 15 guys at a minimum with WJC experience. That's pretty impressive.

I'm all for this too.

Wasn't a big fan of omitting them in the first place.

We have him. But we will not see him for two years as he is playing in Russia:)

I will be quite happy if Rubstov becomes like Couts....I think hoping Rubstov becomes a star C is a bit much.

I think Pascal Laberge ends up #3-4, strongly leaning towards 4 instead of 3 though.
I think we could even see him on the point on the PP with Ghost some day.

For next year obviously Provy and TK will have graduated, Straka already left, Alt, Weal and Lyubimov will be too old, and Pettersson won't be qualified and will probably go back to Europe.

So that's seven guys off the list.

I agree but depending on what someone's definition of a star is, it is very unlikely the Flyers will get another one from where they are drafting. Giroux was drafted as a winger and the fact he turned into a star center was ridiculously lucky.

Fortunate for the Flyers, if this blueline and goaltending pipeline ends up being as good as advertised, they won't need a "star" at 1st line center. Someone along the lines of a David Krejci will do.
