Unless there is some other brother Eric is the oldest one. I do remember however that they used to say that the yougest brother Jared had the most talent when they were younger.

Edit: Their father was the one who said it.

Edit 2: Jared has two games in the NHL. Played on a line with Eric and Jordan.
Hmm, maybe I just made that up then.

The Brothers Schenn supposedly considered careers at Wawa prior to hockey. They have an estranged brother they kept in the basement because they were jealous of his high hockey IQ and skating abilities. They convinced him to go to Chuck E Cheese University where he became a district manager....true story :sarcasm:

I'm interested in this guy:

He is projected to go in the mid-late second round by some due to the Russian Factor. I think he would be a good pick with Chicago's second. I saw one mock draft have him selected 29th overall. That same draft has us taking forwards with every pick in rounds 1 - 4 though, so take that however you want to. The guy has talent though.

The highlights on the PK and when he was battling Nurse are the most impressive parts of that video imo.

His skating and stick handling looked pretty raw still, but that might just be size and age. Wouldn't mind using a 3rd on him, but I think there might be better skilled players available with our 2nd

Let's say the draft shakes out like this:

1. McDavid
2. Eichel
3. Strome
4. Hanifin
5. Marner
6. Barzal
7. Werenski
8. Crouse
9. Zacha
10. Provorov
11. Connor
12. Meier

Would you considering trading up to grab Rantanen? I have no idea if this would go down this way, obviously, but if he slips to 13 or later, would you move up to grab him? If so, what do you think it would take? TB's first, this year's second for sure...more than that? I'd probably do it. Would love to come away with Werenski and Rantanen in this draft.

I have liked the guy all year... but with the Tampa pick if we pick a forward at #7 I actually would love Juulsen. (though tbh there are ~5 guys around that range I would be ecstatic with.)

Guy just has something extra about him, super competitive, can really pass, good IQ, good in transition, also a nasty SOB who is hell to play against. His hitting at times is brutal. Mobile, good laterally but not particularly fast in a straight line.

He has the kind of skillset that with maturation and good development would make him a player with no real flaws at the next level. He would not have the upside of Sanheim or Morin ofc... but I can see the potential for him to be a very good #2. Flyers fans in general would also love the kid.

We could re-hash the 'Great Dane' nickname as well for him, but hopefully be able to use it as he is a great player of Danish descent... not just a tall Danish guy.

"The Great Dane" lives and dies with our Number 1 D-Man, Oliver Lauridsen.

Absolutely not. Just personal opinion. I don't like Rantanen and I also see zero chance Crouse falls past 7. I don't think he's much of a playmaker, and God I hope the Flyers wouldn't pass on Barzal.

Provorov is way better than werneski no way provorov slips to 10, no way should he get past us

There is a definitely a chance that any of these guys slip. Not every team goes off of the same list. But that wasn't even the point of the post...the order up to 11 or 12 is completely irrelevant. I was just saying if Rantanen falls to that range, would you trade up to get him. To come away with Werenski and Rantanen in the first round would be about as big a home run as you could hit given our current pick situation.

If they think Provorov is going to be a top pairing d-man....then by all means...take him.

But I do think we go forward with our #7 pick. Just who?
I think your right about the forward but people calling out Morin for one bad game are on glue. Going to games 3 and 4 in Kelowna for the finals to watch Provorov to see how he handles his first test.

If Marner is at 6, you best draft up to get him. If not, then Barzal.

DeBrusk looks to be in our radar for the Tampa pick.

Lol, I said the same thing as I was reading the rankings. I'd easily give up a small piece to move up one spot. I'd still be happy with Provorov at 7 though.

The question is, if we do get Barzal and DeBrusk, and especially with someone like NAK rising in the ranks, where do people go in the future?

A lot can happen in a couple of years, players will be moved &/or some won't pan out.

I notice they have Werenski as RD... That's interesting considering our need for RD, but I'm still thinking they take a forward.

Would it benefit us more if someone like Barzal was in juniors for 2 more years? I mean he's not that much of a twig, but I guess it's best for him to get a full season after his injury season? I could see DeBrusk going from juniors to AHL over the two years.

They've had him listed as RD all year, but everytime I saw him play this year, he played on the left.
