Ottawa should waive Cowen

Kindl can't be any worse than Cowen and Boro.

Waiving Cowen would be pointless, he is a barely capable 3rd pairing defensemen. Nothing more and thats his own fault for being an idiot. But no team will pick up his contract so waiving him and paying him 4.5 million to play in Bingo is only opening a roster spot. He has shown a complete unwillingness to develop so why give him shifts? He can keep practicing and if we have a couple injuries come in and maybe show he's learned something.

His contract as it stands is less desireable than Greenings, untradeable. The only way Cowen moves off our books is if he F's up outside work and they void his contract, and thus we are stuck with his 4.5 million boat anchor on the budget.

Sadly that means we will not make a move that brings any new expense onto the roster this year as it seems pretty obvious we are up against the budget.

Ottawa does not have to send him down after waiving him but it would teach him a lesson in humility... See Cowen nobody wants you for free... You're not as good as you think you are
