Maybe when Heater is healthy we can go

Heatley-Kesler-Perry
Getzlaf-Fowler (Was there Vs Kings iirc)

Maroon-Rakell-Palmeri/Silf
Lindholm-Vatanen

At least then Maroon can stand in front of the net for Vats and Hampus.. Idk...

I think Vatanen would fit better with the 1st unit than Cam, but I know Cam will be on the first unit

Power play units working so far today: Rakell, DSP, Etem with Lindholm and Beauch, and Getz, Perry, Kesler, Maroon with Vats.

I think Etem is making this team one way or another with how much PT, powerplay practice he is getting and the line mates hes rushing with.

first change that should be made:
replacing fowler on the top PP unit with sami, unless they are going to use fowler correctly, and stop forcing him to play up top.

if they go with the 4 forward alignment it makes no sense to have fowler on the number 1 unit, also please no more getzlaf on the point, i thought we established he is much more effective closer to the net?

I agree with the thought process behind replacing Fowler with Sami but the logistics in terms of too many RHS won't work IMO. It's why we haven't had a truly dangerous PP since the Pronger/Visnovsky/brief Souray days (all LHS).

Why not try Lindholm? He's a LHS.

That's not a bad idea. He may not have the hardest shot, but he thinks well, usually hits the net, and would be better positioned for those one timers from Getz. The PP can't possibly be any worse with him out there on the "top" unit.

New measures (lbs) (last ones in brackets) - i did take a screenshot before training camp.

Beleskey 204 (200) +4
Cogliano 184 (181) +3
Etem 212 (206) +6
Getzlaf 218 (221) -3
Heatley 212 (220) -8
Jackman 224 (225) -1
Karlsson 185 (180) +5
Kesler 208 (202) +6
Maroon 231 (230) +1
Palmieri 196 (195) +1
Perry 213 (212) +1
Rakell 201 (192) +9
Silfverberg 199 (200) -1
Devo 220 (222) -2
Thompson 210 (212) -2

Allen 223 (224) -1
Beauchemin 208 (207) +1
Fistric 225 (230) -5
Fowler 211 (207) +4
Lindholm 205 (197) +8
Lovejoy 206 (205) +1
Stoner 212 (216) -4
Vatanen 180 (183) -3

Andersen 236 (230) +6
Gibson 216 (210) +6
Labarbera 232 (232) =

For some reason, Heatley, Maroon, Rakell, Silfverberg, Lovejoy, Stoner are all -1 inch.

Now Rakell is over 201 pounds but i hear that he doesn`t look strong enough anyway - not always pounds measure how easy you are to be pushed off the puck. Although Rakell himself said he feels stronger now out there - he still needs to improve in the next offseason.

Nice to see Fowler, Lindholm improve their weight too. Interesting that both goalies added +6. Heatley has slimmed.

Hey guys/gals, Can you help me out with your best guess as to what your lineup will be against the Pens on Thursday?

Here's mine for the Pens.

Injuries for the Pens:

Malkin -?, He's skating and has been exercising for a few days now.
Bennett - Lower body out 6 weeks.
Bortuzzo - Lower body ?.
Pouliot - Shoulder surgery over the summer. He's at WBS on a training stint.
Maatta - Shoulder surgery over the summer. He's ahead of schedule skating.

If Malkin/Maatta is in:

Kunitz, Crosby, Dupuis
Sundqvist, Malkin, Hornqvist
Kapanen, Sutter, Downie
Spaling, Goc, Comeau - Johnston seems set on this line.

Ehrhoff, Letang
Maatta, Martin
Scuderi, Despres

Fleury
Greiss

If they are out: Pure guess at best.

Kunitz, Crosby, Hornqvist
Dupuis, Sutter, Kapanen
Spaling, Goc, Comeau
Sundqvist, Sill, Downie

Ehrhoff, Letang
Despres, Martin
Scuderi, Harrington

Fleury
Greiss

Johnston likes doing pairings on his lineup. With the injuries there could be some shuffling of the third wheels of the lines or if Malkin is out much more change.

Kunitz, Crosby
Malkin, Hornqvist
Sutter, Bennett

Just give me a PM.

Thanks ahead of time.

This is only a guess:

Maroon-Getzlaf-Perry
Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg
DSP-Rakell-Etem
Beleskey-Thompson-Jackman

Fowler-Lovejoy
Beauchemin-Lindholm
Stoner-Vatanen

Andersen
Gibson

That's assuming Fowler is ready to play. If he isn't, you might see Stoner with Lovejoy, and Allen with Vatanen. Heatley might play too, but it's doubtful.

Our injuries:

Fowler - probably will join team on the road trip. Doesn`t sound like he will be ready for the Pittsburgh game.
Heatley - also doesn`t sound like ready for that first game
Palmieri - haven`t even played a preseason game but is closing in. I think he won`t be ready

Therefore:

Maroon-Getzlaf-Perry
Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg
Etem-Rakell-Smith Pelly
Beleskey-Thompson-Jackman

Lindholm-Beauchemin
Stoner-Lovejoy
Allen-Vatanen

Andersen
Gibson

Looking at your defensive lineup i think we could benefit from bigger forwards, no? If we go hard to the net i think we might have a chance.

For us i think the skill of your forwards can give us headache.

Vatanen needs to add weight not lose it.

3 pounds is nothing. I wouldn't put much stock into those weights at all, most of them won't be accurate.

I think you're right about Lindholm, though (it was you that said he was heavier, right?). He's certainly taller. It'd explain why he looks so sluggish to me.

Yeah it was me who said that. He does look a step off what he was last year IMO.

Wait Karlsson had 3 assists? I remember that slap pass and pass to maroon the first game, what was the other one?
