Marc Bergevin acknowledged #Habs discussed trading their pick. Said Nikita Scherbak was last player left they would have kept pick for.

I guess that rules out Barbashev.

This is why I was sold on Hosang. He's just a kid. He will mature. He's got the drive and motivation too. Good thing NYI isn't in our division. I feel like he'll make some real noise in the NHL.

This is my guess for 87. With Barbashev not getting drafted there might be a chance teams didn't scout Q as much this season due to how weak it was for 2014.

2014 Entry Draft was the Year of the Nicks, with 5 in the top 30. The Habs got the one not predicted to be in the 1st round before the year started. But Nik Scherbak may be as good as Nik Ehlers 9th and better than Nick Ritchie 10th OV as well as Nick Schmaltz 20th OV a player Chicago traded up to draft and Nik Goldobin 27th OV by San Jose.

Remains to be seen if the Habs trade up for a 2nd rounder, but if they do R.MacInnis C/LW or R.Collins RD might be good choices.IMHO.
