The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today the schedule and list of 34 players attending the team's annual development camp, presented by Sport Chek, which will take place from Tuesday, July 1, to Monday, July 7, at Canadian Tire Centre and the Bell Sensplex. The club has invited five goaltenders, 11 defencemen and 18 forwards. Each of the camp's on-ice sessions will be open to the public.

The club's five selections from the 2014 NHL Draft, held this past weekend in Philadelphia, will attend this year's camp. Fans will get their first chance to welcome Andreas Englund, a defencemen from Sweden and Djurgardens' program who the Senators selected with their first selection of the weekend (40th overall).
The development camp, which focuses on off-ice and on-ice training, is led by Senators assistant general manager Randy Lee and members of the team's coaching staff including Senators assistant coach Dave Cameron, development consultant Jason Smith, goaltending coach Rick Wamsley, video coach Tim Pattyson, conditioning coach Chris Schwarz, Binghamton Senators head coach Luke Richardson, B-Sens assistant coach Steve Stirling and power-skating specialist Marc Power.

Due to overwhelming seating demand, the annual evening scrimmage (5-on-5) will take place at the Kanata Recreation Complex (100 Walter Baker Place) for the first time on Friday, July 4, at 6:45 p.m. The scrimmage gives the Senators' prospects the opportunity to showcase their talent in a game like setting (two 20-minute periods), while allowing fans the chance to see the future of the hockey club up-close. Following the scrimmage, Senators season-seat owners will be invited back to Canadian Tire Centre for an exclusive meet and greet opportunity with the prospects and a management hotstove session on the arena floor.

Daily on-ice schedule at the Bell Sensplex:
  • Tuesday, July 1: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 2: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, July 3: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, July 4: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, July 5: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, July 6: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Monday, July 7: 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. (3-on-3 tournament)
Please note that the times listed above are subject to change. Daily media availability and schedule updates will be available at www.ottawasenators.com in addition to the team's social media platforms, Twitter - @Senators and Facebook www.facebook.com/ottawasenators.

Our first look at Wikstrand.

And Van Stralen gets an invite. Wonder if Boyle has a school committment?

Just a question, how come Pageau, Hoffman and Borowiecki weren't invited? Are they not considered prospects anymore or...?

Yet 26 year old Hammond is there... Lol

That would be because we signed him as a college UFA. He's under contract for next year; I imagine unless he shines he'll be cut loose. Brassard refused to sign because he probably saw there was no room in the system.

Well Hammond is only in his second year of pro. Hoffman has what 4 years of professional hockey? Boro's got 3+Calder Cup run and a one way contract. Pageau was head and shoulders above everyone there last year. I'm A little surprised he's not there while Ceci is, but maybe he's training somewhere else. These camps aren't for guys who've been to 3+ camps already. There isn't much to learn after a few.

I predict everyone to be massively hyped about how good Driedger is after this camp.

The guy is really good.

Underrated around here, I think his progress along with Hogberg we took last year is the reason Brassard didn't get a contract.

i thought for sure Driedger would have been the best choice in goal for Canada at the WJC, but once again they go with the "big name" as opposed to the best guys. Happens every year.

I have a clear memory that he was there and impressed me heavily. Puempel and Noesen on the other hand were disastrous.

Tomas Kral is there! We were linked with a Czech player recently, I love to see that!

Boyle isn't there because he is a bust :sarcasm:

Age doesnt matter, we had that russian who was 28 or so a few years ago there :D

Anyone who manages to attend these, please let us know about Gendron. I think this is the guy from the last draft that needs a look. I just wanna see him skate.

Any word on if Chiasson, Paul or Guptill will be attending?
