Nothing is a guarantee and with the new lottery rules, it gives #29 and even #28 a solid chance at the 1st overall.
I see Toronto having a fire sale so, let's get some Kessel.
I'll take a Yak too
too answer jean luc from the poll-thread:
lol. without bogosian it wouldn't have been tho.
Sry, had to rub it in.
I don't like Kane, but i think Buffalo probably are the more likely winners.
They got two young decent roster players with upside. Meanwhile, they gave up a late 1st, a 3rd line prospect and the difficult to peg Armia. Stafford isn't really worth much, and Myers/Bogosian is comparable.
What would we have had to give up to give around the same value for Kane and Bogo?
Kulikov+Hayes+Hawrylcuk+Knight+1rst ??
No thanks!!
Unless Armia turns into a legit NHL top6 winger.
I think he will. He has all the tools, like Jimmy Hayes with hockey IQ and more speed + superb hands.
I would love to have him in our ranks and we have his best friend!
How often do finnish players that are predicted to be goal scorers turn out to be that in NHL? If he's gonna make in NHL it's gonna be a 3rd line grinner / turned PK specialist
I'm hearing Brendan Lemieux agent (Claude) said Brendan would not sign with Buffalo. I wonder what he thinks about Winnipeg if true.

yeah me too. before the 2nd day of the draft i was really hoping we could/would pick him up

If memory serves me right he didn't look too happy when Buffalo drafted him.

Winnipeg won this. Armia+Lemiuex+a 1st. For a guy everyone knew was going to be traded. On the flip side I am not sure why Myers was traded for. Bogosian is better defensively and they all ready have 2 offensive dman in Buff and Enstrom. So adding another offensive dman and giving up a defensive one I am not sure if that makes sense for them.
IMO Buffalo gave up too many futures for a guy that may or may not mesh in that locker room.
Depending on the type of offensive dman, it may not matter. Like Lidstrom and Stevens were pretty perfect for their goalies, obviously opposite styles.
There's something wrong here. I agree with both of you...
