Among the forwards not returning are grads Derek Hulak (AHL), Brennan Bosch, Andrew Bailey and Kenton Dulle, plus Ryan McDonald, Cody Smuk (who is battling cancer) and Finnish exchange student Janne Kelahaara.
The Dogs have only 6 returning forwards at this point in Craig McCallum, Jesse Ross, Matt Spafford, Josh Roach, Jon Lawrence and Sean Aschim. Brother Kyle Aschim is moving up to F from D.
Scoring could very well be an issue this season as a handful of hopeful recruits from the WHL all signed in the off-season, including a pair who headed to Europe.
Graduating D-men are Cody Hobbs, Garrett Thiessen and Brett Ward.
Their third-string goalie Matt Smidt is also not back.
That leaves a strong contingent in the back end with incumbents Matt Delahey, Kendall McFaull, Zak Stebner, Connor Cox, Chad Suer joined by former Victoria Royals captain and Ottawa Senators draft pick Jordan Fransoo, former Dal and Tri-City D-man Brett Plouffe and former Prince George captain Jesse Forsberg.
You can expect former junior A players David Stumborg, Tyler Borstmayer and Brandon Kuse to add depth and be groomed for future consideration.
