What evidence do you have that the sky is not neon orange? That zebras don't eat meat? That Ondrej Pavelec does not in fact lend goats?

... and those are great numbers for an AHL goalie. He deserves a shot in the NHL.

Let's remember 24 games, 2.34 GAA and SV% of .921 - with 2 shutouts, and the Cup.

yeah and that got Pav a big 5 yr 3.9 million deal!

Note: the Chevy discussion is interesting but if it doesn't involve Hutch, it's OT. I moved it to the 'Evaluate Chevy' thread.

Go Hutch!

Jets signed Hutch - 2yrs 1.1 million. Good news! :) Chevy learned his lesson about signing un-proven goalies to long terms. :yo:

2 years, $1.15 million according to @BrownScottTN.

Good thing Chevy didn't anoint him backup yesterday or it woulda been $1.2 million! ;)

oh sry must have mis-heard the terms...

League minimum is $550,000 this year and goes up to $575,000 next year - so his total contract value is $25,000 over league minimum...

Must be a one-way because the deal that just expired was a 2-way that paid him $600k in the NHL and $75k in the minors (i.e. I don't see him taking less after the year he just had).

The only way the Jets need a backup is if they dump the Goat-Lender and we all know that is not going to happen.

First year is a 2 way. It could be that he's making more on the AHL side this season. Cap geek doesn't have the ahl value as of yeat

Maybe means that they're still looking for a proven backup to challenge Pavs while continue testing and developing Hutch over the first year of the deal? Maybe something's up with the Leafs on Reimer and a top 6 forward ?

I wonder if the Jets might be looking into Jeff Glass as competition for the back-up job. He's spent the last few years in the KHL, but according to eliteprospects.com, he's now a free agent.

Is there some reason he'd be on the Jets' radar? Is he related to Tanner?

I'd give him a training camp invite, that's about it. I reckon he's a free agent for a reason, his KHL numbers are pretty pedestrian.
