Any word on how Hackett is recovering? It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

Nolan: Gionta is week-to-week. Foligno hopefully can return in about 6 weeks. #Sabres

@BuffaloSabres - Nolan says McCormick is a game-time decision. Stafford went home for family reasons so the team may skate 7 D tonight.

@BuffNewsVogl - The Sabres will be without Drew Stafford tonight. He went back to Buffalo for the birth of his first child.

Weird. He's been playing all this time. Could explain why he's been so poor this season though.

Reportedly he's been having significant problems with blurred/double vision, which for a goalie would be devastating.

Of course, this raises some important questions.

1) Why didn't the team staff, who knows his injury history, not catch it or be paying closer attention to it (certainly they had to be giving him regular vision testing, right?)?
2) Why did Lieuwen, knowing his own injury history, not report these symptoms to the team medical staff?

If these symptoms have been going on for quite some time, then there are serious breakdowns in communication and/or priorities.

If i had to guess. he knew the ramifications if it was concussion related. So he chose to fight through it hoping it would clear up.

Perhaps, but it is still creating a dangerous situation. Guys gotta put their health first.

Sabres center Cody McCormick is in the hospital with a blood clot in his leg and is out indefinitely, coach Ted Nolan says.

That's a lot of NHLers out of what wasn't a good roster to begin with. Hopefully McCormick's clot issue clears up safely. That sort of stuff scares the hell out of me.
