Summer Development Camp, 2013, July 10-12

It's that time of year again! After a long layoff and of course a lack of playoff hockey, Sabres prospects will be gathering again for Dev Camp.

One invitee appears to be Junior Sabres forward Tyler Gjurich:

I'd settle on more than a week's notice of the actual dates.

Last year's THREAD and dates were July 8-13, with the opening and final day workouts private.

Very interested in this. I hope they still allow us to come for the blue/gold scrimmage.

Practices and scrimmages should be open to the public per usual.

It's probably a bit later than usual this year with the draft and free agency both pushed back. I'll be back in attendance, if I had the time I'd go to every practice. Definitely at least one practice and the scrimmage at the end.

Many of the Sabres' future players are in town this week to take part in a skating clinic. Braid, who is employed by Buffalo as a skating coach, is giving the lessons.

The Sabres' annual development camp, which is typically open to the public, will return July 8-13.

Unfortunately the ice that they will be playing on their final season at Northtowns Center has the logo going the wrong way - - http://twointhebox.com/2013/06/05/northtown-center-changes-not-for-the-better/

Edit: Yeah I see thats the only way they could place it due to the Amherst Hockey/Northtown Center logos on the bottom part of the ice and the letters "Buffalo Jr Sabres" being oversized. So you just make those letters smaller then and then you can have the darn logo going the right way - north-south not east-west. Oh well just something I have to get use to when I attend games this season - maybe I'll sit on the one end and the logo will be correct! LOL!

On the plus side - congrats to former Buffalo Junior Sabre Tyler Gjurich on getting a invite to the camp! Hopefully I get a chance to come down and see him play!

It's less about the workouts at the time, more about building teamwork with the other guys and also humbles some of the kids to have their ***** handed to them doing pushups or situps by people their parents' age. It bundles motivation, team building/unity, and leadership.

Tickets will be $10, or if you are a season ticket holder, you will get however many seats you normally have for free, so if you have 2 season tickets, you'll get 2 free tickets to the scrimmage. And then I believe he said there will be a free concert held after the scrimmage by the Canal where they normally have the Thursday Night concerts, right next to the arena, and also fireworks after that.
