Because of the way the rotations sorted out in the end of the year, we'll either face Yu Darvish, Matt Moore, or Ubaldo Jimenez in game 1 on Friday.

What happened to the Division Winner getting the advantage? By not starting the ALDS until Friday, the Wild Card will get to pitch their aces twice in the series.

Exactly...not starting the ALDS until Friday negates any advantage the division winner might have had.

If the Rays win it, we probably get Moore in Games 1 & 4 and Price in games 2 & 5

I don't want any part of Tampa. Give me Cleveland or Texas any day, preferably Cleveland actually.

Well you just knew this was going to be brought up again.

from cbssports.com:

The last time Terry Francona managed, his Red Sox completely fell apart down the stretch, going 7-20 in September and blowing a substantial lead in the AL wild-card standings to the Rays. This time around, it has been the complete opposite. Francona's Indians went 21-6 in September and closed on a 10-game winning streak. They secured a home playoff game by taking the top wild-card spot, too.

Monday, Francona met with reporters to discuss the red-hot finish and more -- and he brought his sense of humor with him.

What was Indians' secret to success in September? "We stayed away from chicken and beer," Francona quipped.

Yes, after the Red Sox's collapse in 2011, some in the Boston media went nuts over reports that starters Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and John Lackey would routinely eat chicken and drink beer during games in the clubhouse while playing video games. That was one of the issues that brought on the demise of the Red Sox that September, the narrative said.

Kudos to Francona for laughing about it, especially as he's set to return to the playoffs.

Cleveland 62-62 vs rest of MLB

30-8 vs Minnesota and Chicago

Hoping we get the tribe round 1
Ubaldo has been on fire since the ASB though. Of course he has, it's a contract year.

Still, I couldn't name another starter of theirs since Masterson is going to be out of the pen. At worst I think Lester/Buchholz will split with Ubaldo and they wouldn't beat us 2 of the other 3 games.

wouldn't want any part of the indians.

their defense is propping up their pitching staff and their offense was pretty underrated. it's fun to look at them housing the awful white sox and twins but they still won the games that they should have.

the rangers are having a down year and washington might be the worst manager in baseball. i'd take that over a bunch of pitchers hoping for contact.

Players staying away from fried chicken and beer as well as Terry not popping painkillers like they were candy may have helped the Indians.
