X is a team that had a very small turnover and three solid recruits in Slaney, Gal and Chiaralitti. I see them as a team that will be tough to beat come february. Well coached and structured!
They should have a very competitive program for hosting Nationals in 2015.
SMU has had a very small turnover, but a ton of early injuries and are feeling the effects of the new 22 man roster put in place by the AUS this year.
Outside of Dal and STU, the AUS conference continues to be ultra competitive and I believe the hardest place to win in the CIS!

I tend to agree, but remember, after pushing UNB to 5 games in the 2011 AUS finals and making the UCup that year we all thought they would be even better in 2012....and then they finished 6th.

However, yes I do think they will be right in the mix for a 1st round bye this year. They have all of the pieces.

Ouch. RMC have a load of injuries? It is just really surprising considering the team that scored the 10 goals.

Laurentian is no joke. They work hard and they play a structured game. If anyone says "well, they are an expansion team so they are supposed to suck" then you don't know hockey.

But no real injuries. Just enough bumps and bruises to keep guys from playing their best. Flu bug went around this week as well. No excuses, RMC needed those 4 points.

Speaking of Laurentian there record is now 2-2, it was 3-1 what happened? did the dress an ineligible player or something?

Looks like the 2-1 win over Brock shows up in the shedule as a 2-1 Brock win but the gamesheet shows 2-1 LU

The CIS standings have input the W/L record of Brock wrong in 3 of 5 Brock results. Brock is 3 wins and 2 losses in 5 games so far. The CIS has that Brock lost to UOIT and Nippising: in reality they won those games. With reference to Laurentian, Brock lost that game, but the CIS indicated it was a Brock victory.

I wonder how many other games are input the the win/loss reversed for some of the games.

I have noticed that a great number of scores have been reversed this year, only to be reversed later on. This is causing me all sorts of problems making the OHT36 rankings!

Over the last few years there have been several issues with the CIS posted standings/results not being accurate, although not usually this bad. I tend to rely on the standings/results on each conference site; more reliable but more looking to do.

Almost seems as if the CIS is practicing "affirmative action" in it's employment policies or maybe using Harper's TFW (temporary foreign workers) program to hire people with no clue how hockey stats work.:help:

Carleton defeated McGill 6-4 in Ottawa last night. Pretty significant game in that they are probably the two best teams in the OUA this year. At the very least we will see one of these teams at Nationals this year.

On another note I see RMC got smoked 10-3 by Concordia. That is the second game in a row the Paladins have given up 10 goals.

The Christmas shopping has started for UQTR. They've recruited Yannick Dubé, former Gatineau Olympiques captain who had 72 pts in 2011-2012 with Victoriaville.

However, it might take time for him to get in gameshape. He was diagnosed with a blood cloth last year and hasn't played in 2013, except for a couple of pre-season games with the ECHL Las Vegas Wranglers before being cut.

Interesting coincidence - UNB's newest recruit is Phillipe Maillet who played 4 years at Victoriaville, and was recruited over the summer (but not announced) and gave the ECHL a try this fall before returning to UNB and playing for the first time this past weekend. The V-Reds did announce the recruitment of Maillet's teammate Phillipe Halley over the summer, but he also decided to give pro a chance, and after a tryout in the AHL Portland camp he signed in the ECHL with Gwinnett. Both were teammates with Dubé two seasons ago.

Highlights of Laurier's first game against Windsor. It is worth the watch for the bizarre 3rd goal by Windsor.

Laurier has since dropped an additional 2 straight to Lakehead. Both games Laurier out shot Lakehead, but has struggled to find consistent goaltender, their starter Shayne Campbell posting a 0.830 save percentage thus far, and backup Vinny Merrante posting a 0.875 save percentage.

They open their first game at their home rink this Thursday against Western. Overall, their opening five games are very tough, as following this game, they have Waterloo.

And once again, Carleton fails to deliver in Trois-Rivières. Ravens lost last night's game to a depleted and injury-ridden Patriotes team 2-1.

Sad thing for their coach, for who this game meant something after last year 4th overtime lost in the playoff. But UQTR did play a great game defensively.

One day, the Ravens will have the realise they can beat the Patriotes. They'll become a much better team from then on.

most teams have difficulty adjusting to playing in that mini-rink at Trois Rivieres. Patriotes are a different team on the big ice surfaces as well.

True. Plus the fact that Gelinas is a great puck moving goalkeeper does help on that small ice surface because most of his passes end up near the red line, giving the Patriotes a good shot at a scoring chance.

Gelinas is unreal and stopping rims and regrouping and breaking out. The preseason game that RMC beat UQTR, he knocked down a rim that was ripping around the glass on a slapper and got UQTR out of the zone. He is defenitly a game plan adjuster on the forecheck cause he gets everything.

RMC lose 2-1 to a very good Ottawa team late in the game with around 1 minute remaining. Dorsey looked to be back in form however tough start to the year for the team as a whole. In their game vs McGill seven regulars out of the lineup and versus Ottawa five regulars looking on.

Is it just injuries or are there other issues?
