Yeah Detroit is not in any way better than Wild. Dats and Zet are getting there with age and they have no talent to replace them. Boston is probably better only because of Rask.

Nyquist and Mantha are fantastic talents that could each potentially pot 30-40+ goals at the NHL level.

They might not be up to the level of Datsyuk or Zetterberg, but add in guys like Tatar and Jurco and they have a solid future.

Boston would be in a lot better spot if they kept Seguin. That was just a headshaker move.

Nyquist scored 28 goals in his third season and in 57 games. Let's see if Coyle, el Nino or Zucker do that. Tatar also had 19 goals in his first regular season.

Both had the benefit of learning in the minors. Nyquist has played at least 100 games in the AHL and Tatar has over 200 career AHL outings under his belt.

Coyle got less than 50 AHL games in during the lockout-shortened season before the Wild were forced to call him up and let him learn on the fly. Zucker is whatever but I don't know how you keep discounting Nino's skill set. Go watch that Game 7 winner or something.

General impression on the main board of Dumba even surprising me for how low it is. Not sure if that is still a hangover from the world juniors. Nevertheless, he may have a rough year in Iowa.

He had a rough final 2 games of the playoffs +/- wise, although he did score twice as well. I'm still not worried; he's only 20 years old.

Kurtis Gabriel: A Portrait Of Determination
When his season came to an end, Kurtis Gabriel gave himself two weeks off. No more, no less. Once those two weeks were up, it was time to focus.

His daily regimen includes a morning workout, an afternoon skate and some stickhandling work. Each time he pushes himself hard — determined to catch up in his development — hunting down his dream.

At 21 years old, Gabriel drips in motivation and resolve as if his blood and sweat are laced with it.
After the season ended in Owen Sound, he reported to Iowa and saw action in eight games. He quickly developed some chemistry with Tyler Graovac and picked up a pair of goals and a pair of assists for four points in his short stint in Des Moines. Beyond stats, it showed him exactly what is waiting for him at the next level. According to Flahr, that knowledge didn’t deter him in any way.

“Sometimes a kid gets sent from Junior and they’re tentative or afraid to make a mistake,” Flahr said. “If they’re a physical player they’re a little careful going in because they’re going up against men, but he showed no signs of that. He knocked the front door down. He has things to learn, things to work on in his game, but he’s aware of that.”
