A future (~3 years from now) D featuring something like:

McD - Girardi
Moore - McIlraith
Skjei - Noreau

looks enticing on paper, if all develop positively

Especially if Staal, MDZ and Stralman were to bring in hefty returns in terms of young offensive talent and higher picks
But this we will very doubtfully ever see...
Not sure I ever wanna lose Staal either
But it is possible that he might be a goner

Oil Kings are about to lose game 6, and the series.
They were without their second best forward, and Griffin Reinhart for the series.

St. Croix still did incredible to carry the team.

Can't wait to see what he does in the future

MSC's great career as an oil king is over.
Looking forward to seeing him in Hartford next season.

Does MSC have Marc Savard upside? Both are great play makers and were mid round picks in the 4th round.. MSC needs to get stronger...

Valiant effort by MSC during this run. Will miss being able to watch him in the Memorial cup.

Marc Savard turned into a 1st line center in his prime, so no, he doesnt have that upside.

He could potentially be a 2nd line center, but thats going to mean hes gotta do a lot of work to get even better. I think him being a good 3rd line center is a good target for him right now. We will see how he does at the pro level though.

Can you please tell me how you know for a fact what upside a Junior player has? Especially since all you said is first line player. Not like the question is if he has Crosby like potential.

Huh?

He asked what I thought his upside was. And i said I doubt he will be a 1st line player like Savard was during his peak years.

What is the problem? Where do I say anything is a fact? Its just my opinion dude jeeze.

Sure he does. I don't see how you can say he doesn't.

I'm not even a MSC fan, but he absolutely has that upside. He also has huge bust potential.

Eh, i guess we have a difference in opinion in that department.

I am a big fan of his, but I just cant see him becoming a 1st liner. I mean I guess anything is possible by a small %. Agree that he can easily be a bust too, on the size factor.

Sounds like a definitive statement. Of course, you may think that it being your opinion is implied. Well, too many people think that their opinion is objective fact. So you could have said "I think". Otherwise, it's hard to tell.

Agreed. Savard could score at will in the OHL. One of the most dominant offensive players in junior history. MSC doesn't have that upside.

He also doesn't have as much bust risk as people here think. He has good size and he has shown the ability to get better every year. I see a reasonable chance of him being a second liner. He is a 7C prospect.

I don't know what kinda jerk you think I am , trust me, I dont think ANY of my opinions are any type of fact ;) Just opinions, that I have no idea will pan out or not. And if i'm wrong, and he turns into a 1st liner, then i'll eat 5 full trays of crow and enjoy it haha

His WHL scoring is on par with a lot of big names in the NHL

Nobody is doubting his dominating at the WHL. He was a beast.

A lot are curious to see how he will do at the pro level though since he is a bit of a smaller type player and there was a a lot of critics that said he doesnt go to the dirty areas and wasnt great defensively, hes addressed that this season but the pro level is a whole new ballgame.

Btw, I am really busy right now and with the NYR playing I gotta cut down some on the WCHs, but OL and Sweden played Canada a handful of days ago. From Giroux to E Staal to Duchene to J Staal, Canada is really strong at center ice to say the least. 2 of Swedens top 3 centers were hurt in the game, so OL played a ton.

Sweden played like sheit, and never had a chance.

Anyway, I didn't see the entire game, but OL played fairly well for sure. Great experience for him.

London won tonight with one second left, wow. Memorial Cup starts Friday. Rangers will have McColgan and Nicholls for Saskatoon and Hughes for London.

Anywhere to go to see the winning London goal?

I think Halifax is going to run roughshod all over that tourney. Excited to see Jones, Mackinnon, Drouin play.

I saw it live, watching the stream on my phone while I watched the NHL games. It was a ping pong goal in front. The referees reviewed it for what seemed like 5 minutes. I was only half paying attention and the puck didn't look like it went in to me, though I was watching a crappy stream on a phone, LOL. They called it a good goal, place went nuts.

It was broadcast on Rogers Sports Net, so maybe they have video. It may already be on YT. Something will be up soon I'd think.

EDIT: There are a few: http://www.youtube.com/results?filters=today&search_query=london+horvat&lclk=today
