What's David Musil's comparison. Is there any chance he could become a player like a Brent Seabrook?

I doubt if he will be quite as big as Seabs....nor as physical.
He also may not develope the o that Seabs had in junior....
More of a big stay at home type....like his Dad Frank was.

Frank was a good pro......if he lived up to his Dad's game he would be a very nice player.

Just a stay at home type dman is pretty far from the truth.

I think you're selling him a little short. Hes certainly not an offensive defensemen, but a Seabrook comparison would be a pretty accurate one, hes a big defensive defensemen, but he does have an offensive upside. Kinda like Gudbranson last year except hes not quite as good IMO.

Fair enough....I don't see the physical game in him that Seabs brought....ie Seabs was a big hitter, had 12 fights......Musil's next fight will be his 2nd.

Bartschi Could Be Great...

I really like the potential for Bartschi, doesn't have the size but he seems very skilled and is still young therefore can still grow.
Also is Benjamin Conz eligble for this years draft??

There must be a lot of GM's around the NHL that already licking their collective chops...Sven Bartschi is going to be a good-great player in the NHL.Wishing my Kings get a hold of him somehow to play with Anze Kopitar...

Had the chance to watch Adam Lowry and Reece Scarlett of the Swift Current Broncos last night, both were very very impressive. Especially Scarlett.

Musil doesn't bring the intensity and effort level or the physicality of Seabrook and Gudbranson. And likely never will. Scouts have been wanting to see those from Musil for some time. Im not all that fond of his decision making at times either. IMO he should be one of the fallers this year if he doesn't turn things around. But im sure some team will take him early in the first round because of his great potential. Right now, im hoping it's not the B's. I'd rather have Dougie Hamilton and maybe even Duncan Siemens. It'll be interesting to see if Musil will pick up his intensity level, or is he just one of those guys who'll never really bring it.

Garret Clarke has been taken off the Mooseheads roster. Rumor is he was clashing with Travis Randell. They plan on trading him once the trade season opens up. Shame really, I liked Clarke, was a good player. Sucks to see a player thats going to get drafted within the first 3 rounds get shipped out for a ****** player whos captain and couldnt even get drafted.

Some of you are totally missing what makes Musil a special defenceman. It's his albatross like wingspan, footwork and ability to read the play that makes him special. He's the epitome of a shutdown d-man, you don't have to throw crushing hits or beat the crap out of forwards to prevent them from scoring, you just have to stop them from getting quality scoring chances. Defensively he's way ahead of where Seabrooke was at the same age- in fact I really don't think they're that similar at all.

The best comparisons I can think of atm would be a cross between Luke Schenn and Willie Mitchell. Both those guys can throw big hits at times but that's not what makes them so valuable to their teams. The type of player who doesn't jump out at you.....but the more you see them the more you appreciate what they do.

Sounds like the Avs will have a few nice defensive dmen to choose from in this draft (Siemens, Musil and Dougie Hamilton)

Komarek

Konstantin Komarek was a beast(so to speak) on his WJC team last year. He was one of, if not the fastest skater at the tournament. Not as strong on the puck as you would like though....

I have a questin to you NA guys who see Q games.

Marc-André Fleury went #1 overall, his draft year stats:

51 GP, 3.36 GAA, .910 S%
Playoffs: 4 GP, 4.47 GAA, .904 S%

Also maniac-like WJC: 5 GP, 1.57 GAA, .928 S%

Christopher Gibson will go next summer, currently:

16 GP, 2.20 GAA, .928 S% in Chicoutimi Saguenéens which i guess is very bad team

I'm not saying Gibson should go #1 overall. I want to know what is the biggest difference between these two goalies. Why Fleury was #1 and Gibson could be out of TOP30. Was Fleury selected #1 only because amazing WJC?

At the time the Q was a higher scoring league but his WJC helped him alot.. Fleury also was most likely taken by Pittsburgh for need

Wondering if I could get a quick scouting report on the following forwards:

Matthew Puempel
Matthew Nieto
Shane McColgan
Lucas Lessio
Boone Jenner
Joel Armia
Sven Bartschi

Basically... strengths and flaws, projected draft position range, NHL comparisons, and any other relevant info. Thanks.
