That shift happened with about 3:00 to go in the period. I have access to it on nhl.tv but I don't know how to make gifs. :(

Thank you! I will look it up again. I don’t know how to make gifs either

Edit: I still have to wait 48 hours since it was a “local” broadcast for me and nhl.tv doesn’t give full replays until 48 hours later.

Bratt played well but....it's a numbers game and I don't see Hynes sticking with him instead of going with the Veterans in the postseason.

Hope he gets SOME *Playoff* icetime as it can only aid in his development as an NHL player.

Yea I don't expect to see him much, if at all, in the playoffs. Hopefully he can take a big leap in development for next season, which isn't uncommon.

It was a little predictable that a kid that came out of nowhere would trail off as the season went on. Maybe if they lose a couple games in a row he'll draw back in to try and provide a spark, but honestly he looked pretty physically defeated during the last couple months. Hischier is the exception, normally a full NHL season is trying on a young rookie. I suspect he will again be a member of the top nine next season and be a lot more prepared to handle an entire season.

Well said, both of you.

We keep forgetting that he's only 19 years old so his career.....his *NHL* career...is just starting. Again, I hope he gets a few games here and a little icetime just to experience the difference in intensity on the ice and what to expect as opposed to the regular season.

I expect nothing more than that. He would have to score some goals or dish out some primary assists in the few times he gets on the ice for him to earn more icetime in the playoffs, imo.

All in all, I'd say it's been a more-than-successful season for this rookie drafted in the 6th round (162nd overall). Safe to say that he's got a bright future HERE and his success = Devils management striking gold in the 2016 Draft.

I said I would be happy with a 30+ point season, and he got 35 points in 74 games. The fact that a 6th rounder from 2016 has come into the lineup in his D+2 season and performed that well is incredible, and we've hit a home run with him even with this as most 6th rounders never sniff the NHL.

On a 62 point pace now. I'm still going to say I'll be happy with 30+ though, that would be an unbelievable season for a guy who was a 6th rounder last year, and a good year for any rookie.

Anyone think the grueling NHL season got to him? It’s such a big step going directly from playing 48 games in the Sweidsh 2nd tier league to the 82 game NHL schedule. Very few players have accomplished it without spending at least a season in the SEL/AHL

Hoping with a bit of rest he will can get back to form for the playoffs.

Absolutely got to him. How could it not? That is such a drastic change in terms of competition + schedule + all other variables. I think Bratt will come back next season and put up ~50 points

Yup, and not at all surprising it did.

If Bratt draws into the line-up, it's not going to be a good sign.

It's going to mean either the team is struggling and Hynes had to mix things up or some of our top scorers got hurt.

I can see Wood sitting

9 13 63
17 37 21
23 19 20
40 11 39

I don’t think they sit Wood. Hynes already sent his message.

I want Bratt in, but honestly I don’t think it is totally essential to mix up the forwards just yet.

The big reason I would sub him in is if you want to take Palms off of Hall’s line.
