Injured Reserve
Back to familiar territory.

They better not rush either back and that's not me wanting Kunitz out. He's old, let him fully recover instead of hobbling around at 50% and he can rest.

I hope we see Guentzel and Sundqvist.

Sundqvist is hot right now.

Agreed.

I just have no idea who takes the RW spot with Sid.

I wanted Hornqvist to get some rest at some point because of the way he plays but not by a concussion, like a day to day thing at worst, but not this sort of day to day bs. As for Kunitz, meh, I feel bad saying that but him sitting is a good thing for the line-up.

I am hoping Guentzel is called up, so at last that LW is covered.

What would be the options?

Guentzel, Crosby, Sheary
Kuhnhackl/Sundqvist/Wilson, Malkin, Rust
Hagelin, Bonino, Kessel
Sestito, Cullen, Fehr

Wilson, Fehr, Kuhnhackl

Wilson and Kuhnhackl have been sitting lately, so you have to expect they will be reinserted in the lineup and given a chance to get going. Sestito is on waivers today, so count him out. That means someone has to be called up. Since we are down two wingers and still have Fehr as the emergency center, I'll assume its Guentzel.

I'll also assume that Sully isn't going to throw Guentzel into the deep end by pairing him with Sid or Geno in his first pro game, though if he sticks for a while I'd like to see that. Also, HBK didn't show much last game, so this is probably a good time to split that up again to feed Sid and Geno.

Hagelin - Crosby - Sheary
Wilson - Malkin - Kessel
Guentzel - Bonino - Rust
Kuhnhackl - Cullen - Fehr

Edit: It would also be cool for a shift or two to see the Mega-Powers Part Deux: Malkin - Crosby - Kessel

That really sucks about Hornqvist. Hopefully it doesn't keep him out for longer than the bare minimum.

The Pens really do have the worst injury luck in the league. It's not just the number of injuries, but the types of injuries and which players seem to get them.

It's a miracle Hornqvist hasn't suffered more injuries with his style of play. The sad truth is the way he plays his body will start breaking down probably sooner than later.

I'd like to see if Sheary and Wilson can rekindle their chemistry from last year, but with Sid:

Wilson - Crosby - Sheary
Guentzel - Malkin - Rust
Hagelin - Bones - Kessel
Kuhnhackl - Cullen - Fehr

As long as you have Guentzel, if he's called up, with 87 or 71, I'm cool.
