lol...poor Toth. He so wants to be a funny guy. He keeps referring to Festivus from Seinfeld. Unfortunately when he re-tells the bit where Frank Costanza explains how Festivus came about, he replaces the classic line "...and as I rained blows upon him I realized there has to be a better way!" with something much less funny like "and as I fought with the fellow over the doll..." Sorry, but without "as I rained blows upon him" it just ain't the same gag Jim. Do better. lol

Currently the worst thing on 1290 is not Toth's commentary, but the resurrection of that incredibly creepy commercial with Liebl and Westwood about the spa place on Corydon. Lots of sports double entendres and Westy's voice in the commercial is particularly creepy .

I find Toth just endlessly annoying to listen to. He can't get through 20 seconds without saying "and that's my point..." and then saying something different than whatever he had said just before saying "and that's my point." His thoughts are a constantly morphing, endlessly shifting stream of nonsense ftmp - and he has to try and back them up with make believe stories about "locker room and/or airplane conversations" he had a year ago or something.

Westwood is about 50, 5'9", 175 lbs

Toth is around 35, 6'3", 225 lbs

I'd put my money on Toth with the TKO

Not a 1290 issue per se, but holy crap can they fix the audio on the Roundtable simulcast?

Rick's audio is fine, but his guests sound like they're talking through a tin can phone. Wonder if this is just an issue with the TSN SD channel (Shaw channel 10, specifically).

Sorry to revive this thread ... but even some of the posters I disagree with on this board at least present compelling points. I have started listening to 1290 and ... wow just... wow.

This is in reference to the notion that maybe Ehlers should be there. Toth's rambling at times borders on lunacy. And yet, he never backs down from anything he's surmised...he just endlessly adjusts the goal posts and hunkers down.

Toth sucks. His only backup for his opinions is how he used to hang around the Moose. Did you hear he used to report on the Moose? Give it a minute he will tell you again. He loves to drop that one anytime someone tries to use silly things like stats or facts.

Toth is a complete dinosaur. Despises proper use of stats in any way (uses eye test only & poorly at that). Still believes that Pavs is a good goalie -- you can just hear it in his conversations today.
